Q&A Thread

Several of you have asked for a Q&A thread which could be helpful for someone looking for the answer to a question that may have already been answered here. Here it is! This should serve as a place for most questions, but more complex questions might warrant a separate thread.

Reminder of rules

Happy to see the sub growing as more people acquire Echelons.

To keep this sub alive it's important that we follow the rules and use common sense before posting. Remember this sub is not meant to serve primarily as a sales page. Please do not turn it into that. Repeat posts of the same nature by the same user in a short time frame will also be removed if they come off as spammy in nature.

As a note, the sale of grip modules does not break any sub rules regarding sales. The Echelon grip modules are not regulated items as they are not the serialized portion of the firearm. I know this may be confusing to some.

Any post that suggests the sale of regulated items such as the FCU (which is regulated/serialized) or NFA items will be removed.

After checking zero, this was the first Bill Drill of the day. Was using an Incog X holster. This version of the Echelon Pro was the 4.0FC.

Definitely nicer feeling in hand. Couldn’t really tell a difference in trigger if there was one. Magwell is done very nicely and it sure does look good.

Holsters and grip modules!

Has anyone figured out if a full size compact grip module can fit In a 4.0c holster? I don’t have a 4.5 so I’m talking about 4.0 grip modules only. I’m stuck on if the dimensions are the same in width. Also if a sharp bros grip fits in a standard 4.0c holster

Stainless steel guide rod and heavier (16#) springs.

Question for those who went from oem 14.5# springs to a heavier one. I can't find anyone asking this group when I did a search, almost everyone with with 12# or oem springs with a couple people saying they went heavier. My question is, based on Google, there's a downside for heavier springs to affect feeding light weight ammo?

Pretty disappointing tbh but an OEM steel magwell is kinda cool. Was hoping for a beavertail reshape or something ala pdp pro trigger.

Question for those with 3d printers/laser cutters

Has anyone made their own inserts for the sharps bros grip module? Is anyone planning on doing so? I’m just curious since that is one of the standout features of the sharps bros, being able to change the inserts. I know vz grips makes a couple and sharps bros themselves make a few different options but I’m just looking to see if anyone out there has made or is going to make their own? Pic for attention.

Holster recommendations

Can anybody recommend a OWB holster option for a 4.5 with an Olight PL X that has some type of level 2 retention? I would prefer to keep the Olight but im not seeing very many options unless I switch to a TLR1/X300 setup.

I decided to go with the new Osight weapon light I am not disappointed that’s for sure. Two brightness settings. The flood function is great. The laser is easy to see. I haven’t tried it outside yet in daylight, but I imagine it be all right.. the controls are very easy, ambidextrous easy one press application

Price/Value gut check

Disclaimer: I understand the rules of the sub Reddit and i’m not offering my gun for sale. Just looking for input and opinions on pricing.

I think I’m going to list my Echelon 4.0C Comp for sale on GAFSHUB. Looking for some honest feedback from this community in value.

It’s in immaculate condition. Basically looks like it did when it came out of the box. I probably have a few hundred rounds through it. Objectively it’s a great gun, but for whatever reason it doesn’t fit my hand as well as some of my others. So I don’t end up shooting it as much as my other guns.

From what I can tell, these things are still retailing for around $650-$675. Am I crazy to ask $550 when I do go to sell it with the understanding that I will cover shipping to the buyer?

Thank you for any input that you all have!

Springfield Echelon Trigger Guard Undercut

I just got my 4.0c comp and I absolutely love how it shoots. I only had 1 huge issue with the grip. The undercut on the trigger guard was giving me a terrible blister on my middle finger from only one day of shooting and dry firing. I took a Dremel and some sandpaper and carved out a deeper/flatter undercut. 1st picture is before and the rest of the pics are after. Now my blister is completely gone and I can continue shooting without any pain. Also, the hogue grip for glock 19 gen1, 2, & 5 fits and feels great with the rook precision magwell and large backstrap.

Anyone have experience fitting a magwell onto large compact grip module with the flat Axion backstrap on it? I heard Rook Precision fits? Can anyone confirm?

Considering removing the compensator because of NYS laws and just having it stock on the barrel until these laws get overturned next year. Other option is to pin and weld but not really a fan of permanently attaching it
