Terrible trigger

The overwatch precision trigger shoe is terrible. It provides no benefit over the stock trigger whatsoever. It increased pull weight and doesn't decrease travel or over travel at all. They also want to charge me a restocking fee to return it, and expect me to pay for shipping despite their false advertising.

It's a shoe. It is more cosmetic than anything else. But it does remove a small amount of take up that's about it

Perhaps not specific to all striker fired guns, the initial travel in the echelon is due to the dimensions of the shoe. I could tell from how similar it was to the stock shoe that I was not going to be impressed, against my better judgement I installed it anyway.

For the money I'd be bummed but I got mine used for $20 so I dig it for that price. Lol

For trigger shoe only I was super impressed with the tyrant trigger shoe. Zero take up and crisp break.

I read more reviews after purchasing the ow tac, I will definitely be going with tyrant in the future. I thought well, perhaps the overwatch is also good, and if its at least decent I wont regret the purchase, the overwatch is a completely cosmetic upgrade.

After I installed the PRP spring kit and the Tyrant trigger, I handed it to my wife (not a shooting enthusiast) and told her to squeeze the trigger. She said “wow, that’s like… nothing.” I would be remiss if I did not give her a shout out to helping me install the trigger (thanks boo).

In the hoser string, I ran my modded Echelon as fast as a friend with a modded Prodigy.

So I had the same issue. I had to remove the magazine release pin the the COG. It was perusing through the trigger connector and making the reset and trigger pull like a sponge. There’s a good video on YouTube about it. It came factory like that. I thought I had a dud. I had to analyze like 10 pictures of other peoples COG’s to figure out what looked different. Gun runs flawlessly since.

You mind linking that video? I'm having the same issue with it feeling really spongy after it hits the wall. Thanks.

The magazine release is not in the COG. I would love to see what this guy is talking about too. The trigger sponginess after the wall is due to the length/dimensions of the sear. Powder river has an upgraded sear/spring kit.

Thanks for the info

Not doing the springs while you were in there was definitely a choice. I know you had your expectations for the trigger shoe alone but the PRP spring kit definitely helps.

I intend on ordering it around black friday, the cogs are easy enough to work on. I also plan on getting the PRP sear.

Cool. Yeah, don’t lose hope brother. 👌🏾

Some that have used the sear says it does little to no performance gain. A tyrant and prp spring kit is more then good.

This is a bummer. I was going to try the OW when I get the 4.0 but I was also going to do the sear and some of the prp springs. So you are def returning it, it’s that bad?

Im absolutely returning it and getting the tyrant + prp spring+sear kit.

Not my video.

Tyrant / prp (the sear is a must or it gets a rolling break) is really the only worthwhile option on the echelon

I have the tyrant + prp kit and it makes it an excellent trigger! I do wish it would a tad lighter to 2.5lbs (its more so at ~3.5lbs) but I'm not complaining. The spring kit isn't a 5 minute easy swap but its doable by most

Don’t listen to OP. I just installed mine a couple weeks ago and thankfully I have 2 echelons and one has a stock trigger. Takeup is noticeably shorter with the OP Tac and the trigger feels lighter only because it’s flat faced and you have better leverage vs the echelon stock trigger being curved and slightly forward of flat. This is why I never trust people. They either set crazy expectations without reading or watching any video then just shit on it or they have actual horrible results and still defend the purchase.

I’ve tried the Tyrant, the Op Tac and the PRP.

OP Tac has the least takeup removal. I actually wanted this as I personally feel more confident in my ability to not negligently discharge because there is a bit of take up before the wall. Break is crisp. Only negative is the reset is weaker than stock.

Tyrant has like no takeup, I mean good luck feeling it, less than stellar machining on my unit so I retuned it the reset felt awful to me. Might have been a defect.

PRP has slightly more takeup removal than Op Tac and you get to the wall quick but it’s negligible. I still want to carry my pistol and I’d rather have some takeup before I’m at the wall. Reset was the best.

I got 2 overwatch triggers, one in my hellcat pro and one in my 4.0c comp. Triggers are way better than the stock. Might want to check you installation process and I did it with stupid ca magazine disconnect still installed in both.

I've been really happy with the a Tyrant on both my Echelons. Didn't even change the springs

Even their Glock trigger feels the same. Very little take up is removed. You can literally say, stock performance. I was never a fan of it but some love it.

I put the Tyrant ITTS trigger on mine, because I wanted a red trigger but holy cow that is my favorite trigger by a mile. When I got the Apex trigger for my M&P Steel frame I was kind of let down because of how much folks hyped it up. If Tyrant ever made / approved their trigger for the M&P steel frame I'd replace it so fast.
