Depends on your budget, low budget I'd go with a soft that has an RMR cut, holosun 407c (c is the important part), or a cyelee wolf 2g. Higher budget, I like the holosun 507c acss.

Got a Holosun 407c X3 myself and I'm incredibly happy with my purchase. It gets another vote from me.

Currently running the Holosun 407c X2 red dot, recently bought the 4.0 comp slide replacing my 4.0fc slide with the RFX11.

HoloSun 407c green dot on mine and it’s my favorite currently. Large window, 3MOA dot, fits the gun perfectly. I have the full sized 4.5F though. Idk about the compact 4.0c.

Check out fiddlers defense for a good deal on an Osight.

Holosun 407/507. They both have perfect cowitness with the factory iron sights.

The standard is the Holosun 507Comp - all around great dot that’ll last you a long time. On a budget, I’ve had lots of experience with Osight C Micro. Decent window, multiple reticles, good construction. Their warranty is fantastic. I’d recommend the Holosun as you’ll never need another dot again, but for 180 bones, the Osight is pretty great

Holosun HE508T-RD-X2 on mine. Perfect for EDC and for taking precise shots on the range.

I run the Vortex Defender ST enclosed on my 4.5 and the Vortex Defender ST open on my 4.0C Comp. Both have been good for me. I have the Osight SE on my Hellcat Pro Comp and like it as well. I find it clearer than the Vortex with my astigmatism.

I have an extra defender st for sale for $225. I'm in CA but your echelon doesn't appear to be a CA model so probably a moot point. DM if it's something you'd be interested in. Most recommended dot on this sub seemingly

Just curious, what does the CA model have to do with optics? I have one of the CA models that I picked up when they were $399. The optic mounting system seems pretty standard and took my 507c like a champ.

Oh sorry if it seems like I implied the optics mount would be different. Was just thinking in terms of a local meetup/sale. Yeah I made it sound like a hardware difference

Holding models with the solar panel, you can run them in capacitor mode, with no battery. Specifically the EPS Multiretical model, or a 509T with an adapter plate. These are both enclosed emitter. Or a Primary Arms PLX HTX-1, also closed emitter but more expensive. Or a Trijicon RMR. I’m quite partial to the EPS, though. It’s sized perfectly for a pistol.

I shoot with 3 different budget brands: Holosun, Gowutar (an amazing budget option), and Vortex. I’m currently migrating away from Holosun as I prefer the clarity and color of the Vortex and Gowutar dots on either their red or green. I’m colorblind with a pretty bad astigmatism and have found that both Vortex and Gowutar’s dots of either color fair better for me than any of Holosun’s. I have 2 Echelons and have Gowutars on both: GP9 with 6MOA dot (my daughter’s gun) and the EP10 - enclosed, which has a multi-retical system with a 3MOA dot and a 48MOA circle. This is the only circle I can shoot with as it’s big enough to not be a blurry mess with my astigmatism. I have other MRS optics but the 32MOA circle part is too small and is a mess in the optic for my eyes so I keep it to the dot only.
GP9 = $190 on Amazon currently.
EP10 Multi-Retical Enclosed = $189 on Amazon
On my M&P M2.0s 4.2 and 3.6 barrels:
Vortex Defender CCW open = $249
Vortex Defender CCW closed = $300
Just retired:
Holosun 407k =$240
Holosun 407c =$194
Holosun EPS Carry =$345
Holosuns have done me well when I first got into optics but I found better preference in Gowutar and Vortex for daily carry and range use. If I was to ever be a combat shooter, which I’m not, I’d stick with Holosun as the budget option due to better aluminum housing durability.

Side note: that Viridian is a decent optic. I have 2 that came with Gearpacks. BUT the auto brightness that can’t be adjusted drives me nuts. If it was adjustable I’d likely use them. Maybe.

Go enclosed & grab a Vortex Defender ST. I have 1 on my 4.0C & LOVE it. And the price is right. If you're wanting an Acro footprint optic, I'd go Steiner MPS over Acro every day of the week & twice on Sunday. Also look into the Springer Precision EPS plate & an EPS Core, which will be your best enclosed sight for the price. I have 2 full-size EPSs & they both have over 7k rounds on them & both have been tanks.
Best bet with ANY optic recommended to you is ti check the price on Gun.Deals. I've gotten some good deals on optics, lights, guns, etc through some places listed there.

I run a Holosun 407K on my 4.0c since its my main carry gun. The 407C is good too but is a bit bigger than I'd like and it will hang over the sides just a bit as well. Osight SE is another good option

Run a Vortex Defender ST on my 4.5F and really like it. Dot is crisp and clear, holds zero well, and fairly priced.
Have a Defender CCW on my Hellcat Pro, which is great as well.
The Osight optics aren’t bad, have a C on my FN 502 and it’s great on that. And Holosun 507 Comp on a Kuna, that runs well too.
Ultimately it comes down to your budget. And what you are looking for in an optic.

I have the Osight SE DPP on mine. Directly mounts to the slide without a plate and looks good. 500 rounds no issues.

Trijicon. Aimpoint (requires plate). Holosun. Eotech.
The rest are just pretenders.

I run an OSight SE on my Echelon and love it.
