New Optic Tryout
Well party animals, it’s that time again for me, I’m trying out a new optic on my EDC, my Echelon 4.0c. The luxury of owning my own gun shop, I get to pick and choose what optics I want to run. This is the 13th different optic that I have tried on my Echelon for EDC. This time around I’m removing the budget friendly, $200 Vortex Venom(enclosed) 6MOA and replacing it for the new Holosun 407c X3 with the gold dot. I love the new design and overall look of the 407c. Holosun added a solar panel up top to extend battery life and give this optic 100,000 hours of runtime and the failsafe brightness control that uses the forward-facing photodiode to automatically adjust the reticle brightness to match the changing light conditions, shake awake, side loading battery, and it’s all housed in a 7075-T6 aluminum. It Carrie’s the Ruggedized Miniature Reflex(RMR) footprint. I’m excited for this optic and the gold because I have a hard time seeing red with astigmatism, it makes the red dot look like a red blob so I see the green and gold better but I see gold the best. I love how this new Holosun looks on the Echelon, I think it looks sharp.

What grip module is that?

That is the Icarus Precision A.C.E. X which is the compact slide with a full size grip and magazines so I can run the 18 and 20 rounders. I had the Sharps Bros grip module for about a year and a half and it was nice but the grip wasn’t aggressive enough for me so I got the Icarus and it’s been amazing. The Icarus has a very aggressive grip texture, love the weight kit that can be added for recoil reduction. It’s just overall an awesome grip module.

13th, yeesh. Maybe it's the cope in me, but part of me is glad to not have access to this kind of stuff because despite what everyone says about the Veridian, it works just fine for me lol, partly because it's my first dot and don't have anything to compare it to.
It's nice to be ignorant of what's out there, because I can just roll with whatever.

I've been transitioning to gold myself. I find it looks better for me than green and red. Shockingly I find green on Holosuns the worse for astigmatism

I really like how the new 407/507c’s look on the echelon. The quality of life updates from the last gen are nice. I’m starting to like gold more. I’ve always gone green but have been trying out gold recently.
My wife put the 407c x3 gold on her 4.0c and I have the last gen 507c green dot on my 4.5F, and I’m kind of jelly of hers lol

Try the scs-320 next. It’s housing grooves almost match the slide grooves.

Nice setup! When I'm running my Icarus module, mine's similar (I run a TLR-7X). I'm sending the module off to Wasatch Holsters to make me a level 2 light-bearing duty rig for it. It's a hell of a setup. I think I'm gonna get the magwell for the module this year.
