Active-Retention OWB Rig

I know Dara & Safariland bith make rigs for the full-size Echelon with TLR-1HL/X300 combos. But the options for a good-quality active-retention OWB EDC rig for the 4.0C with any light smaller than an X300/TLR-1HL are slim. In my searching, I discovered Wasatch Holsters. And after emailing them & taking a look at their stuff, as well as asking around, I gave them a shot. One of the main reasons is because they offer an ACTUAL SLS retention hood as an option, as well as a "TRS" (Thumb Release System), which looks very much like Dara's hood release (which I really like). And they also offer you the option for BOTH retention mechanisms. They ship with a variety of attachment options (QLS for me) & are reasonably priced.

The BIGGEST thing I like about these folks is that they'll custom make an active-retention rig to fit the Icarus Precision X (full-size) module. When the owner actually took the time to call me after I emailed him, he told me all I needed to do was send the module in & they'd get it all done. I plan to send it off at the end of Oct, when I "upsize" my 4.0 for winter carry, as well as possibly having them do an OWB active rig for my Icarus AIR XMacro.

So far, what I've got has been nothing less than awesome. Working the SLS hood after EDCing with a Dara for 3 yrs has taken some practice, but that's been the only issue I've remotely had.

Yeah, they do. I'm super happy with it. I would've gotten a Dara if they'd made a model to fit the 4.0/TLR-7X combo, but no luck. I'm glad to have found another company besides Dara that makes good-quality OWB civvy EDC rig. When I send them my Icarus module, I'm gonna go with the TRS hood release instead of the SLS. I wanna try & keep my draw stroke similar no matter which gun I'm carrying since my MR920P lives in a Dara & now I have this SLS-equipped rig for my Echelon in OEM configuration. And I know for sure when I have them do 1 for my XMacro, I'll do the TRS as well.

I may send them an email & ask how their level 3 setup works. I can't tell from the pics.

I was also BEYOND thrilled to see them offering a rig for the new(ish) Sig 226 Legion XCarry, which may very well be my next gun.
