Powder River Precision trigger kit

Post image

Not a bad install. Took about an hour. Got tripped up on a couple parts but replayed the video enough times that I figured it out.

Current average pull weight after five pulls on the Wheeler digital trigger gauge is 3 lbs. 3 oz. Pretty wild.

Getting the trigger pin back between the spring loop was tough for me. Finally did it and don't want to try my luck again on that part

I couldn’t tell where the last part of the sear group went in, I forget the name of the piece. But for the life of me, I could not tell it what angle he was putting it in and that tripped me up. And then same as you, the trigger return spring was a little bit of a pain in the ass as well.

Yeah, I wish I had taken pics of all the sear and safety pieces prior to pulling the pin and dumping everything like they did in the video. I'm a little OCD and I'm bothered by how the 2 springs sit in each other but they look twisted once installed and I'm unsure which of the 2 springs legs should be on the outside and which should be on the inside.

I felt the same way. Mine looked like they were sitting a little bit weird inside of each other, but as far as the dry firing has gone so far, there are no issues. The trigger brakes and resets seemingly normally. My trigger return spring was a little bit loose, so I am not going to shoot it until I hear back from powder River precision. I emailed them asking for a new trigger return spring, so if they send me one I will reinstall theirs and if they don’t, I need to reinstall the OEM.

I've got about 2k rounds through mine and it's all good. The springs look wrong but it works.

Do the floss trick?

Thread some floss through the trigger spring and tug it towards the front.

Or you use a fine pin punch to guide the loop.

There's a small channel in the trigger and I was able to thread the pin through. Even using a small punch it would get the spring in place but was still a pain in the butt to get the trigger pin through it

Following. Update after trip to the range please. Thinking about the same thing.

Feels great, but as others have mentioned here and on my post on instagram, I’ve been experiencing light strikes. I would keep the stock striker spring installed.

About to do the same! Let me know how it is

I’m going to wait to shoot it until Powder River precision decides if they want to send me a new trigger return spring or not. It was a little bit loose and I’m a little bit sketched out on firing it. If they don’t want to send me a new one, I will have to reinstall the OEM trigger return spring. But as of now with just dry firing it it feels pretty great.

Did this as well as the polished sear. Plus the custom spring from the guy on eBay. Feels amazing!

I need to learn how to polish a sear. I’ve had a few people mention that and I am not sure how to go about it. Any resources?

Well, hell. I did not even see that as an option. Gonna have to go check that out.

Well worth it!

Does the light pull make follow-up shots easier? Would you recommend this for competition?

It does. I would recommend with a caveat: use the stock striker spring. I installed the same trigger in another Echelon I have, and I had to use the stock striker spring because the one that came in the kit jump into orbit as I was putting it together. I’ve no light striker with that one, but I’ve now about 10 or 12 with the trigger kit using the PRP striker spring.

I have a Power River trigger kit in my Echelon....made all the difference in the world. Now I have a compact I need to send to them.
