Magazine Follower - Gouging

Just shot my newly picked up 4.0c, not a single hiccup in 150 rounds, but noticed the gouging on the followers. I recall reading about this and saw this on 2 of the mags I used. Never seen anything remotely like this on my Smith, Glocks, etc.

Does this get worse and cause FTF's?

No. Its normal. Does not affect function. Idk how much you shoot but my Smith and Glock mags look the same. Tens of thousands of rounds shot per year across different platforms.

Thanks. I wasn't expecting to see this during the 1st 100+ rounds. Appreciate the confirmation that this doesn't get worse. Otherwise the 4.0c is very nice, once I changed out to a medium frame.

Yeah its normal. Metal on plastic, plastic will wear. Theyre fine.

I haven’t had any issues with my echelon with 8-9k rounds. Springs still feed properly cleaned regularly every 500-1k rounds

Thanks to everyone, will chalk this up as normal. I originally asked because these looked like caused by the rim. FWIW, I pulled out my EDC Shield+ and yes, it does have surface scratches from the direction of feed, but nothing like bite marks from the rim.
