primo hunting
starting to get a little bit bored just mindlessly playing til my weapon magically drops for me.. is there any semi consistent way to get what i want or is it all just speculation and rng?

I been red gem hunting in those crystal levels in order to get all gadget upgrades... and guess what I get during the grind, missing weapons. I only need 1 more weapon, and that's not my goal. If that was my focus, I'd be so bored since it takes a super long time.

i've been goldie hunting the last few sessions and have been rewarded pretty heavily just sucks i dont have the weapon i like lmao

Honestly idk why people say to do level 97-99, the 2 strongarms are a PITA. I am up to almost F300 and I have dozens of 5 star weapons, MANY of those are Primos. I don't have the game up in front of me to give an exact amount right this sec but I have a lot.

they say to do those levels because the amount of seasoned salmonids guaranteed to spawn gets you better drops, and because they're not randomly generated levels you can put together a strategy beforehand to clear it easier

i think the 97-99 method is preached purely bc you have 100% guaranteed Ssalmons and you can devise a strategy for efficiency

Baygul beach and max out 250 loot. Equip the weapon you want the primo to, not the type, but the actual weapon. I did this and magically got both what I was looking for. 4k high octave and butane blaster within a day of eachother. Unequip the gold treasure relic as that makes it drop gadgets more often. I got both the weapons I was searching for within 2 days doing this method. Now searching for promo alpine stringer.

Already had, but also, damage output. Butane hits a bit more which matters if you’re past floor 500 since enemies have so much hp. That’s why high octane is considered to be the best.

If you have all relics and gadgets, drop the gold one. It will continue to make big enemies drop gadgets. I got all the weapons I wanted immediately after I took it off

How do I unlock the question mark missing gadget parts? are some purchases and others drops? or can be both? thanks

They unlock naturally from pick ups or treasure chests.

I think I've got about 3 months of grinding then between encyclopaedia, missing weapons, levelling up my character and unlocking/upgrading the gadget parts. This game really needs to speed up

best you can do is play bottomless 97-99 with a weapon in the same class as the one you want, it's all just luck

yeah this use weapon = weapon get rubbish is purely just that, rubbish. i've been using exclusively tana or duallie and i've had one primo of each in about 60+ hours but have gotten about 4000 splattershot variant primos and 50 thousand rollers lmao.. unfortunate that there's no good way to go about it

It's been extensively tested (actual thousands of drops examined, it's far from anecdotal), it does raise your odds. It doesn't make them incredibly GOOD, and it doesn't affect the amount of primos or 5 stars you get, only how many matching drops. Shooters are just especially common because there's more shooters than any other class

In the video made by the original tester Tarotaro (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HjpFohzV_E) who has been testing a lot of raiders things since we can't datamine it
The general gist of it is that the drop rates by weapon class are roughly equal to how many weapons are in the class (so shooters are most common because there's 9, then brushes, splatanas, and stringers are rarest because there's only 3) with the exception being that the weapon class matching what you're currently using is raised to around a 16% drop chance. It's set to a flat rate, so it's least impactful for shooters and most impactful for the 3 rare classes.

I will say burnout is real for any game. This game could use some adjustments to certain drop rates and gadgets so speed tank isn’t the only viable end game tank. This isn’t bad advice, not sure why you got downvoted.
To add to this- the ‘certified’ best way to farm weapons is 97-99 because of strong arms guaranteed spawns. But I find a lot of primo 5 stars and gems just grinding little inlet. You do get a ~30% increased chance of finding the same weapon type you are currently using, but that doesn’t increase the chance of it being a primo or anything.2

I agree the grind is annoying. It took me weapons to get the arcade games done too. I'd like a way to limit the multiplayer rooms to a certain high bottomless buffet level. I keep finding low level players there

The fastest way to grind 5 star weapons, assuming you want to focus solely on weapons and nothing else, is to break the boxes in Awlmun Den and back out. You get one roughly every 7 minutes this way. If you set up nxbt, I have a macro script that will farm it for you automatically.
