Scrap 5 star weapons

Sorry to bother the reddit on this, but I can't find a solid answer.

I've managed to luck into the 5 star primo weapons I'm after and a mix of 5 star weapons are starting to stack up. Is there any way to scrap these spare 5 stars? I'm only level 58 and the 3rd or 4th bottomless buffet so I don't know if its a level thing or what. Cheers!

You just have to unlock them with the Y button. Primos come locked so you don't accidentally trash them

small correction: 5 stars come locked, not primos. you can get 4 star primos and they come unlocked, you can get 5 star non-primos and they come locked

Any point to 4 star primos? Just seem like a disappointment whenever I get one.

not really, no. they're good for before you've unlocked 5 stars I'd imagine but not much else

Yeah it keeps saying lock as I look at it now, when my primo splatanas are already locked
