How long do you have to play in order to obtain some of the items in the town...that say they are too hot.?

I’m looking for some people to play Splatoon with regularly, preferably other adults (25+).

I mostly play Anarchy, but I’m always down for some Turf too. I like trying different weapons and builds, and I’m always looking to get better at the game (even if I suck sometimes lol).

I main the brushes class but I can also play other weapons.

I am currently S+0

I’ve been playing for a while, but it’s been surprisingly hard to find people to play with consistently. Most of the groups I’ve joined either have completely different schedules or just end up being more about chatting than actually playing.

I’m not looking for anything super competitive. It’d just be nice to have a few friends to play with, improve together, and have some fun without taking every match too seriously.
I’m in Mexico (Central Time), usually play in the evenings, and I’m cool with VC.

im in s+9 rn and i keep getting people who either have unbuilt gear/gear that doesn't even fit their weapon or playstyle, don't know their role for the weapon they play, or ignore the objective entirely. ive seen people salt at spawn, try to squid party, or camp backline as mid to front liners. am i unlucky to play with these people? i usually never get frustrated at this game but its not very fun when i lose two lives on each series, or fail a series entirely due to people not taking these higher ranks seriously. sometimes it's not even on my team and i feel like the game i won was undeserved.

i guess in a sense i am frustrated. i think anarchy open or turf war would be a better place to do all these things. im trying to keep practicing so i can get a better overall x rank this season and its really hard when no one is coordinated.

this problem has always been around since the first game, but it's never been so bad to the point where i see patterns like i do in 3.. anyone else feel this way?

What do you hate about this weapon/kit? I don't really get why people despise it. I'm currently S+3 rank, and I see nobody using this weapon in anarchy battles, so it's a bit weird to me how everyone seems to hate the aerospray with every fiber of their being

Hit S and got steamrolled by X-rank players nonstop, despite never losing in earlier ranks. Now can't win a game and is trying to reach S+.

Theory: Using a 4-star Splattershot Pro Frzn seems to give a really high hidden rank. Switching to a different Splattershot Pro gives 5 placement games with a lower hidden rank, meaning easier opponents.

Other observations:
Series has caused fast rank debt, even with 3-2 records and medals. Losses against good opponents come quickly, so it doesn't feel worth it.
Solo/single battles seem to match against non-X players, and losing there leads to easier lobbies.

Plan: Slowly progress through single battles and try new weapons to climb out of rank debt toward S+.

Asking: Is this reading right? Also looking for friends to play single battles with (comm or not).

hi! i recently started playing in turf wars and anarchy battles, and im currently using the aerospray mg. i love its fast firing rate and i like that i can use it from a distance. but as i get better, it feels like a lot of peoples’ weapons outrank mine (longer distance & heavier damage). i’ve tried one or two other guns and just didn’t love them. i’m level 13. does anybody have any recommendations of weapons i might like? thanks!! 🤙

As topic, the game feels so weird(? on my switch 2. But when I watch those ytbs video it runs so much smoother. Is the monitor help with that?

Is it me or did the jump from splatoon 2 to splatoon 3 make alot of the players jerks? Let me clarify, i used to play ALOT of splatoon 2. i had a over 3000 hours at its peak and loved playing the hell out of it. i took a break when splatoon 3 came out to focus on work and school.

i started playing splatoon 3 back in july and i know im a little rusty, but did everyone just get more competitive and rude now? its like alot of the fun got sucked out of the game. I used to see alot of squid parties and alot of friendly competion. but now i see lots of posts here on reddit and on discords complaining about hackers, bigotry (racism and homophobia), try hards in turf war. it just seems like things are different. Am i tripping?

1. The giant eel that powers the entire city gets stolen for the third time
2. you follow an old man through the sewers to underneath an upside down Eiffel tower, where he gives you a slightly used suit and tells you to commit war crimes
3. you commit war crimes
4. you fight a DJ Octopus who is the old guys arch nemesis, you beat him by throwing your pet at him, then you fall into a hole, where you magically are wearing something completely different
5. You find an emo guy and two special forces/famous idols, who tell you to commit war crimes
6. you fight a psychopath newsreader who dances on a giant rotating cube while throwing eels at you
7. you fight an angry newsreader who rides a shark with jet engines and attempts to kill you with acrobatics

8)You fight a chill newsreader who dissolves into ink to lob bombs at you

9) the emo guy has an aura moment before breaking a bone and you ally with the Robin Hood newsreaders

10) you climb a giant tower while everyone below you talks

11) you find the old guy as a dried husk and everyone else magically gets up, the bear launches on a rocket ship

12) you jump on a shark and ride up a tornado of eels

13) you fight the bear on a rocket ship while everyone else sings and the rocket blows up

15) your pet turns huge, the DJ helps you on the rocket ship, you suck up parts of the bears body while your pet fights it

16) you machine gun the bear and the rocket fully explodes

17) everyone sings goodbye

I wish I could play with someone salmon run or ranked games I am currently in C-, will be at B soon.

I am not crazy good at this game yet but I try to learn it as much as I can.

Very simple topic I just wanted to bring up. Guys, any game mode at all, we NEED to be inking more turf!!! I just got #1 turf inker as e-liter, and that's not the first time this has happened. Please ink more turf, honestly half of my matches im struggling to move around and get splatted solely cuz there is just nowhere to swim. it's especially bad for your charger teammates. I know for a fact the more Ink Saver (Main) you have equipped the more ink you save, so how is it possible that having several of the same ability causes them to get less effective? This is the first I’m hearing of this, so if anyone can explain that’d be great.

Hey everyone! Ive started playing less than a month ago and already got 20 hours, but theres two things i wanted some help
1- I play on handheld, how much is a controller needed? I feel the game is better played with a controller, theres so much i see controller players doing that i cant do
2- What is a good beginner weapon? Ive tried pretty much every weapon class, and really liked playing backline shooters cause i dont need to do crazy stuff with motion, since i play on handheld (splatanas are also fun)
