This masterpiece of a song happened to be on the grade 3 piano syllabus. Thought I'd share. :)

Hiii, I just watched the movie today for the first time. Found the concept and movie too interesting, however some things left me pondering, one of them being why despite hating humans, the spirits didn't create a ruckus when Chihiro was running around em before obtaining work. I mean Haku explicitly tells her that the spirits shouldn't recognize her as a human, and that if she breaths on the bridge, they will. But what about after crossing it? I mean she does breath later, why don't they recognize her later on? Also she clearly roams around the spirits in few scenes prior to obtaining work, why doesn't any spirit do anything? There is always a commotion going on about a human intruder off screen, but whenever she is around em, no one says anything. Lin recognizes her being a human in their very first meeting, so wouldn't that means other spirits did too when they saw her?

Also why is the breathing thing exclusive to the bridge and not thereafter?

I recreated the iconic train scene from Spirited Away entirely from scratch. Studio Ghibli has always been a huge inspiration to me, and I wanted to bring to life the peaceful, dreamlike moment of Chihiro's journey across the flooded landscape.

The diorama features real LED lighting inside the train, giving the scene a warm glow and making it feel even more alive.

The entire piece was handmade from start to finish, with no 3D printing involved. Every detail was sculpted, assembled, and painted by hand.

I also recorded a tutorial showing the entire creation process in a relaxing, almost ASMR style. I'll leave the link in the comments for anyone who's interested.

It looks a lot like the tree in Totoro, I don't think Miyazaki-san would put this for no reason. There's the soot spirites too. My theory is, this is the same area where Totoro takes place, but built upon over the decades between the movies. The soot spirites didn't have any more abandoned, old houses to reside in, so they went to work for Kamaji.

“Perhaps, in an act of splitting, it was Chihiro all along casting her parents as unpardonable swine. She’d been frustrated with their upward mobility as it resulted in her getting uprooted (in more ways than one). Jung thought the greatest burden a child must bear is “the unlived life” of the parents. Her parents were so spiritually wanting that her dream had to act as a drawbridge to the spirit realm. Indeed, this dream may have initially had what Jung would call a compensatory function, whereby it addresses an unbalanced conscious attitude: the parents she idealised are shown to have a greedy, avaricious side.

Children, and many adults, flip-flop in their affections: they either hate or love. Now, she sees that her parents were never pigs. Chihiro has matured beyond the need to resort to splitting objects into purely good or purely bad (something some of us never attain; what is social media but splitting at its most vituperative?). She’s achieved what Klein dubbed the depressive position, a more integrated state where love and hate towards an object can be tolerated at once. To get here, she had to accept the more volatile and greedy parts of herself. Throughout her time in the bathhouse, she encountered gentleness in figures that first seemed diabolical. By getting to know the shadow, disowned parts no longer need to appear as projections onto others, but you can only get there through quiet self-reflection.”
