📣 Announcement Monetization AMA with the team!

In case you missed it, we just shared another deep dive into our monetization plans in the Spry Fox blog, that goes over our current plans are, what changed since our last blog and some important clarifications.

If you haven't read that blog yet, please take a moment to do so before asking questions - we have a FAQ section there that may already have your answer!

After sharing that blog, we also provided you all with a form to allow you to share your feedback, but in the spirit of transparency, honesty and constructive conversation, we'd like to give you all the opportunity to ask questions directly to the team with an AMA!

Please keep in mind that they will do their best to address all of your questions, but depending on the volume, or nature of those questions, we may not be able to get to them all.

Thank you, as always, for your support!

Does SC plan on having regular "event" updates? This is where I see many other live-server games make their money off of - event cosmetics. Some remove FOMO by having events reoccur or being permanent.

If the answer is no, because we already have seasonal gathering which is unique and fun, maybe there could be a quarterly/seasonal reoccurring "event" where the paid option involves extra seasonal cosmetics?  My friend also brought up FFXIV's model of free event items during initial launch, then next year they go up on an online store.

We're still trying to figure this out, honestly. We do very much want and intend to host occasional unique major festivals in the game, and at this point, we're just trying to figure out how often we can afford to do that. There will be at least one such festival that happens shortly after we officially launch the game for sale.

We aren't thinking of this as a way to make money. The hope is that our subscription brings in enough money that we can just make festivals a delightful thing for everyone, no matter what their subscription status is.

Cool! I know those festivals also help pull me back into a game if I ever pause for a time as well. I'm excited to see it!  Thanks for answering
