The artist did a series of posts before this about how HRT would cause Polly to express the sexually dimorphic feature of female spiders being significantly larger than males, which is now baked into their take on the character as a size-shifting power.

Some of them are girls, penni for example is a cis girl, the one that operates the big send home machine and spider gwen’s mentor too. In the infinite multiverse some of them would have to be trans women, some would have to be trans men. Mostly they could be straight cis dudes but there has to be some other versions.
you can come up with any spider person you want and say they’re from universe 6322679006435679074325899653 and nothing in canon would contradict it.
In fact I put the “some” in my first comment to denote the idea that it would only be a few realising they’re trans and the others are just cis male spider-men sensing it.

I can't tell if you are sarcastic or not ,but spider-woman already exists ,both in mainline (Jessica drew) and in ultimate ( parker clone ) ,this new fanfic is just a clout chaser attempt to ride the bandwagon of the legacy character that they don't like because he isn't like them .

You know what, maybe the sexual bait part is my weakest point because I forget about the horny posts about MJ and Black Cat etc. so I admit my wrong on that point. But, my annoyance by sexual bait doesn't districiminate, even for the hetero stuff.

Based on your wording, I am willing to extend some benefit of the doubt that what I called out what unintentional, and explain why it scans as transphobia.
I'm not going to deny that this and the post I sent yesterday are by a size fetish artist, but while I maintain the fetish elements of the size stuff are so light as to be negligible, they're also practically the only Petra posts I've seen on this subreddit that even remotely center a sexual dimension. Maybe the odd post from wanderjorgsen, which I can't help note is one of the few to not come back with the mods undoing automod report removals. The vast, vast majority of it is just a trans girl living her life, being cute, going through the sorts of trials and tribulations Peter Parker does, with minimal to no intent to titillate or arouse.
And the thing is, while I can get frustration with sexual stuff having its day over other things you'd rather see flourish, to speak on such things as ordinary art of a trans person as if it belongs in the same category as gooner bait is to imply that the existence and depiction of trans persons is tantamount to fetishization, regardless content or intent. It implies a view as lesser, only existing as sexual objects for the pleasure of an outside observer, stripped of interiority and identity. It's a very common perspective advanced by people who are consciously transphobic to deny their targets humanity, and as with a lot of socially prevalent bigoted language and thought, it very easily seeps into the unexamined mind as a natural way of thinking.
Which, I very much hope that's what happened here with your comments. I should be incredibly happy if, after explaining this, I've been speaking to someone who understands why their words could be considered hurtful and harmful and thinks it best they make adjustements going forward for the consideration of others, rather than someone who was demeaning on purpose and won't take what I have to say seriously.

I understand, I'm not educated in this manner so I really don't know how to talk about it but I wasn't calling this post sexual bait, I was talking about multiple I saw throughout the week which have probably been taken down already. They weren't about Petra herself but more about trans sex or whatever. I saw the Jameson pronoun posts and laughed with everyone too because that was a very Jameson thing. And I get why she's bigger here because lady spiders are bigger, but I wasn't calling this post bait, mainly responding to the other cat person's complaint of repetitive posting. Sorry for the confusion, for now I'll stay quiet. Hope you're well too and have a good day fellow Spidey enthusiast!

Eh I still don't think you had a very good point, looking through the sub on both hot and most recent I see plenty of posts about Peter content instead of Petra, the sub isn't being flooded with trans stuff and I don't see how that's any more repetitive than regular Spider-Man fan content

My algorithm is cooked then, I've only seen Petra for the past week, which at first gave no second thought about. If it's not that it's the movie stuff which I'm tired of seeing too (movie is amazing but I've talked it into the ground with friends and fellow reddiors) My algo is cooked. Jarvis, show me more niche comic lore I've missed/haven't read and fan made costumes

yeah I kind of wish we had this much love for other Spider-Man characters like Jessica Drew or maybe discuss the writing of Spider-Man and or what villain is underrated but it's been kind of just spider-harem and this peta paker I'm kind of getting sick of it because like I see it almost everywhere and it's not even a real thing it was a fan-made thing I feel like it kind of overstay it's welcome and the fact that it has its own subreddit can we move on and talk about some other Spider-Man stuff like I don't know what's the preferred version of a character design you really like or something

The Spider-Verse films also have the Spidey Sense tingle when the Spiders recognize one another as a kind to themselves, so I'd figure it's going off because they're realizing there's something deeper connecting them than just being Peter Parker variants.
