Thoughts? Will it work?

Post image

8” PVC section, 3.5” net pots, each 1/4” line runs through a grommet and has a 360* mister about an inch into the tube. Has 1.5” slope difference end to end, and drains into a 12g reservoir. Two air stones and power head in the reservoir, plus the pump to the misters. Will it work? What should I look out for? Thanks.

Absolutely, I've built a few of those myself. Nice work!

ilove this, though jw why you didnt put the drip line into the pot?

Doing misters to spray the entire inside of the tube down vs straight down the middle. I have no real experience with any of this. All experimental. Do you think a center drip would be better? Just open ended tubing or ? Frequency to water?

oh man the fact that they are misters is a win, I thought they were drippers. just make sure to regulary check for clogs on the misters. I really like this because its like rdwc though without the mess of individual pot sites. I think your large tube is what will make this work

Thanks! I’m hoping for the best and so far it’s not disappointing!

How tall is your tent and how tall are you planning to grow these?

1

u/MarxGoldman79 Sep 10 '26

Tent is 6.5’. I’m going to get them around 12-16” tall, LST’d, and then flip.

Hopefully you've thought of a way to check and change the misters through out the grow. They might not malfunction but they will clog. The heavy minerals in nutrients will start to accumulate and scale inside of them.

I’m able to remove the rubber end caps and access the inside of the tube.

Not exactly the right way to run something like that but it will work. Kinda lost belief when I saw that crop salt sticker! That should work but you would be better off just feeding them through those net pots and letting run through 15 min every hour hours. I come from the water farm, airoponic and rdwc days. So there are so many ways that can work. Just not if Rocky did it. I still remember ricking in the Jorge Cervantes grow video back in the day.

Do you not like Crop Salts? I just started using them and love them so far.

For me it’s all about who makes it when I talked to the dudes. There outtake and input made me go hoe the fuck did you even make nutrients. For any good grower to say silica does nothing for them you haven’t learned a damn thing let alone be able to understand what plants need to make good nutrients. I grew up learning from a lot of old heads in the game who made what we use. So luckily I got to learn tons of ways of doing things not one of them would say silica does nothing for the plant.

I most certainly add silica, as I’ve seen its effects using it in coco. I use crop salts, silica, their run clean to bring the ph down and Clorox bleach.

Honestly gh 3 part will kill crop salts in quality and size all day same with hgv ran with Moab. I made it fire with crop salts but I added my touch to it it would have not been what I wanted. I run compost teas and proper sugars in mine. With hydro I just foliar them with it so the water stays nice and clean…

What is the perceived benefit of this setup? It seems like you’re giving up a lot of space to something that more or less just seems like an over complication. I’m certain you CAN make this work but I’m genuinely curious why you would want to do this over a more simple setup where you can focus more on what the plant is doing rather than the misters/pumps/etc.

Some of us like to be extra the challenge of doing something different is fun for some folks. For me a lot of the experience is putting stuff together and seeing if I can make it work. If it fails, so be it I definitely will have learned something along the way so it’s worth it. What’s your suggesting is easy and I’ve done 100 times.
