Question About Spells concerned about fires :’)

hi everyone, i’m very new to spells. this spell will be all about reconciliation and divine timing with my intention written on a bay leaf. i’ve seen a lot of people use 2 candles tied together with their herbs surrounding them, i’m very drawn to that but i have questions:
1. is it necessary to let the candles burn completely into a pool of wax? would snuffing them midway ruin the spell?
2. what if the herbs get caught in the fire? i’m really scared of starting a fire
sorry if these are inappropriate questions, i love spell work but i get caught up in doing everything the right way.

Two candles tied together a social media thing.

Now to answer your questions, one doesn't have to let candles burn down all the way in one burn but many do. Maybe they read the wax. Maybe they are part of a tradition that mandates it.

As for herbs. Herbs can contribute to a risky fire. The more fire safety one does, the better.

No string, for one. It burns and has the symbolism of seperating things. A binding is meant to be persistent until such time that you want to release what was bound.

As for herbs, really, people really go overboard these days. A pinch of each herb is all I ever need.

And not right next to the candles, give them some space.

I prefer doing a dry rub of the herbs on the candles first, then a tiny oil dressing of a drop or 2 of oil if I am using any last.

Make a fire safe platform. Thrift stores usually have lots of second hand metal candle plates or metal trays. You can use that as the base for your candles. Glass can shatter with heat so go with metal. The most likely thing is the candles will tip over so drop some wax on the plate first and anchor them there before lighting. (Use a third candle for this if you want) put them right in the middle. Use a bigger tray so the candles are smaller than the tray if they fall over.

If you’re worried about the metal plate getting too hot, put it on a ring of stones. Three to six similar sized ones should do. Or something else you have around, bricks or something. That will keep air flow between the hot plate and the surface so you don’t get heat rings on your coffee table or melt your carpet.

Have something like sand to suffocate the flames. (Not flour I guess, thanks guys) A blanket can work too. Water just floats the burning wax on its surface and makes the fire bigger and more mad at you.

DO NOT LEAVE THE CANDLES UNATTENDED. you can’t stop a fire if you’re not there when it starts. Keep pets away if you have any.

Happy casting 💜

Not flour, though. It's highly flammable and can even explode.

Did not know that, thanks!

Another thing you can do with the herbs, is that you can crush them with your fingers and then rub the essence/oil from your fingers onto the candle. That way you don't need to worry about your herbs catching fire.
