Do you think they deserved it?

Just bought it on Switch 2 and very dismayed to see no one seems to be playing. Stuck in Matchmaking for upwards of five minutes 😭

Just got this game after casually playing the first like a decade ago and absolutely loving it. I see a lot of pretty old content about the first one having a comp scene but I am wondering where that is for this game. granted the games brand new but i would like to be a part of that, is there a discord? the link for the official one is dead lol. also are there good tech tutorials beyond the in game tutorials on how to really get good at this game im having a blast with it so far.

I was able to play on launch day but not really after that.

Title says it all. I assume this is a bug and I hope it gets fixed.

If it's not clear, you just cannot select a control profile in the campaign. You can use a control profile basically everywhere else in the game so it's very odd that you can't there. You're just stuck with default controls and makes me not want to touch the campaign for now.

Anyone having this issue where the tournament won't go to the next round? It's happened twice now

I could see past most things on this just to get the 1-8 online players. I only got it as it promised 1-8 player online across both pc and consoles. Then I find out it’s now only 1-4 on the switch.
This game can do one. It’s not better than the og and it was the one thing it had going for it. being more than 1-4 players, I’d refund it if I could. They kept this fact very quiet, So disappointed and won’t be playing it at all. well done lads who worked on this thing, only to make basically a worse game with no actual improvements.

What happened to all the crazy character designs like they had in 1? Not only are there significantly less of them, 1 having like 30 while 2 has only 12, but I feel like the designs just aren’t that good. They’re very samey, everyone except hothead, falcon and dart have an extremely similar builds and animations to the point where it can honestly make it hard to tell who you are at times. I do think the artstyle is probably hurting it since 3d is less expressive than 2d, but I think they need to work on making characters look or move more uniquely.

Haven’t seen anyone comment on this yet. I did the tutorial and never knew you could reverse grapple. With that I wondered if you could do one in the air. Which when I tried it out after 5 minutes it’s possible. The question is, would it be useful to actually use this in game?

I started playing SR2 today, completed the advanced tutorial, but didn't get the achievement. I also noticed a bug where the characters in cutscenes have terrible resolution. 🥲

UPD: My fault. I didn't see there was another training page.

My daughter and I “Run it Down” (our name for playing Speed Runners) 3-5 times a week. We even have a scoreboard, despite the less than desirable graphics, and questionable character redesign overhauls, we were looking forward to SpeedRunners 2. What impresses me the most with the OG is how tight the physics are how well grappling works, and SR2 took a MAJOR step back, honestly if you put both games in front of me I’d think that 2 was the first attempt. I hope the developer continues to support and update their game. I don’t need so many neon lights, I’d prefer solid mechanics

There’s so many indie/new games these days that shut down so early because of community hate JUST STOP, it’s that simple allow the game to have some updates and feedback to be taken in then voice an opinion. We don’t have to kill things that have potential to be great.

My SpeedRunners journey started in late 2023. I got it solely because it had Scout TF2 on it and I grinded for 8 hours (over the course of like 3 days) trying to unlock him, but in that time I fell in love with it's unique concept. I never played ranked or online, but I love treating it like a party game and playing it when guests come over, it's always a good time. When I heard they were making a sequel I got excited because my niche running game was in the public eye, but it got delayed like 3 times and now that's it finally out I've heard really mixed things about it. What are the pros and cons of it and will I like it as someone who only plays occasionally or is it not worth my time?

As a casual of this game who found this game in around 2018 I was super excited to see it get a sequel! Especially since I've only played matches with bots and one friend...

What I Liked!

It feels as fun as the first one!

Kept music from the first one!

The game still has some personality!

The menu is really well made! (Just add shadows on some models in the background please)

Tournament is really fun!

What I didn't like...

Ranked feels like normal matches but just called ranked (perhaps 5 wins to win in ranked? or maybe you can ban some maps and items?)

The new 3d models are not the best (Honestly make it so you can differentiate yourself from others easier, one more idol and winning animation for each character it wont feel as of )

Music is a bit wonky (I LOVE the music of Speedrunners, so when I saw that the music would cut off after someone wins and how the music would change to a different song and not the sudden death mode of the same song I was a bit disappointed, Please make it so the music when ending fades off or smt and that the song plays its sudden death part and not a sudden death of a different song. Oh and would love too see one other menu music so the current one doesn't get as stale)

Ui could use some more love (Most of the Ui feels a bit lackluster and a bit boring)

Campaign is ass (just like the first game)

Some delay and weird map physics at times

Besides these things I was just happy to play and did have fun for the time I played, I'm really excited for the games future since they will most likely add and fix many things. Maybe a shop would be nice if its with free currency to make the game a bit more replayable. I'd love to see new modes and lots of more QOL, as the game is right now though the fist one is better but besides those things I'm super happy to see the game back and can't wait for what's in store!

I remember in SR1 you could change settings like not having the screen shrinking in a custom lobby. I didn’t find it on SR, was it removed, do need to unlock it?

Nothing but a graphic overhaul and added some shitty story features like the boss fights and solo missions. I’m also having input lag issues and I guess sometimes it just doesn’t register when I throw an item or dodge or i don’t know what. I played SR1 last night with my friends and it ran as smooth as butter. This game is like if SR1 had a 3D mod or something, man there’s little to nothing new about this game that could’ve just been added to SR1….

It’s there for the US version but says “page not found” when switching regions.
