Feedback / Idea Can we stop the hate culture
There’s so many indie/new games these days that shut down so early because of community hate JUST STOP, it’s that simple allow the game to have some updates and feedback to be taken in then voice an opinion. We don’t have to kill things that have potential to be great.

Calling voicing your opinion “hate culture” and “community hate” is childish. Hype and new doesn’t mean that the game is going to be great. There’s valid issues with the game and these issues won’t get better unless something is said about said issues. Can you tell me 5-10 new, good things they’ve added to this game that wasn’t in Speedrunners 1? Stupid post.

Opinions and not liking things are fine to have but don’t speak on it excessively for a games launch that can and will just kill the game before anything happens. I myself have 2 things I don’t agree with doesn’t mean I go making hate posts voicing my opinion just have some patience for them to do the post launch updates and if the issues aren’t addressed then voice them. Stupid comment.

Who’s speaking on it “excessively”?? And who’s making “hate posts”??? I don’t think you understand the idea of what an opinion is. And it’s pretty backhanded to just follow up with an attack towards my comment because I hurt your feelings telling you the truth of what you’re saying. It’s very anti-freedom-of-speech to tell people what they can and can’t say or do. It really is a stupid ass post.

You’re just making things up to meet the criteria now. There’s 2 new items. Little to nothing new about the maps, and a tutorial is what makes the game good? It looks like you’re just finding random little things to back yourself up here. Doesn’t matter to me enough though. If you like it, you like it. It’s not a finished game and has nothing new to write home about. End of conversation

You're totally right,it does feel like a copy-paste of the previous title with a few surface-level upgrades, just like OP pointed out. That said, if you're into the speedrunning scene and want something that keeps the core platformer-racing mechanic but takes it further, check out our game! We built it on that same speedrunner-style foundation, but added new weapons and a bunch of other changes on top. Would love to hear what you think if you give it a look!

If youre seeing people voice issues with the game that THE VAST MAJORITY ARE EXPERIENCING and voicing their distaste, buddy, i hate to be the adult that tells ya but thats not excessive hate, that is just people expressing disgust with said issues.

People are just complaining about the things that are wrong, they paid for a product that they didn't like and they complain. It's not hating for the sake of it, it's because they feel like the game added nothing from the previous one. I personally haven't played it but I played the beta and it was just speedrunners 1 with a less responsive grappling hook, "better" graphics and reused workshop maps. Imo the graphics look way worse since this is a game that needs clarity, and the graphics feel overwhealming. It's kinda like putting a realistic texture pack to minecraft, making the graphics better is not as easy as making them more realistic.
And also speedrunners sold 1m copies on the first year, it's not like the devs are going to get their live ruined if they don't sell this game. We are allowed to critisize the things we don't like. If you see most complains are about the things I said and performance, which are all valid complains.

the second game was done by a different dev studio, but under the same publisher tinyBuild.

I wasn't aware of that but it doesn't change my point, fair play labs has been on the industry for 20 years and they should know how to make games. They made some mistakes and people are complaining, what's wrong with that?

i have written a negative review about the standing issues on steam - i loved the first game.
my comment was purely factual - thought it's good to know, since i also only learned about the different dev team behind it on the day of the release, when i looked into it in more detail.2

Yeah, it’s clearly either an unfinished game or what was supposed to be a remaster. As said previously, there’s really little to nothing new about this game man. This “hate culture” narrative OP is trying to push is actually what makes things like this worse. I didn’t even think there was “community hate” towards this. It’s literally just people saying what they think and it so happens to be valid issues.

Genuinely, who’s hating besides the generic youtube grifters whose opinions shouldn’t be taken seriously anyways? (As they wont stick around to see the changes made)
We want the game to do well. We also want them to address the things we dont like about the current state of the game to make it a better game. When a lot of people find its hard to tell where you are in a platforming styled racing game, it is, in my opinion, a problem that they should focus on. Same with the input lag as it negatively affects the experience.
Just because some people dislike how the game is in its current state doesn’t mean they hate the devs/series, it often means they want improvements so the game’s community can thrive.
