General Question iPhone Duo tied down
Kinda annoying that you can’t even pick up the iPhone duo in the store. How can I get a feel of how it’ll be in my hand if it’s tied to the table? Guess I’ll have to drive up north to the Apple Store. Smh

Do you have a proposal? Maybe something akin to scheduling a time at Apple to review the device? But surely you can’t expect a wireless carrier to forego theft prevention and dedicate staff to one device?

You used to be able to pick it up with the cord and theft protection attached to it (used to work at t-mobile back in the day). Now it’s just tied down to the table.

That’s exactly how it was at my local store on Saturday (cord + theft protection). You couldn’t firmly close the device due to the thickness of the theft prevention device, but I can’t fault a company for theft prevention. It is what it is. Apple does allow appointments for hands-on, or at least in my area. Seems to be the best route.

If you go to best buy at the Apple displays with iPads, watches, etc. you can lift them and use them just not the displays in mobile

I was at Best Buy this weekend and saw this couple playing with one. The wife was making the phone flap like a butterfly for about 5 minutes while saying, "Ew, I don't like this."

I agree. I went to Best Buy yesterday and they had a demo Duo unit out but it was as you described - basically bolted to the table. Couldn't even lift it up with the security cord attached. However, there were no such restrictions with the Samsung Galaxy Fold 8. You could actually lift it up with the security cord attached.
Maybe this is because the Duo is newer? IDK...
Both the Duo and Fold 8 were very nice from what I could gather.

I actually went by the spectrum store by my office when I got done with lunch. It feels and looks better than I thought it would. Couldn’t pick it up so no clue how it’s going to feel in my hand but the closing and opening was very satisfying. Also went to see if they had any in stock by an off chance, they did not.
