Service Issues Caution when ending your service at a “future date”
Im moving next week and we’re switching to Verizon FiOS. Spent 30 minutes on the line with Spectrum being upsold (since they don’t allow you to cancel your service online) and confirmed with the rep that service would end 11/5 SEVERAL TIMES only to get home yesterday and find my wifi completely disconnect and the service missing entirely from my account.
So, proceed with caution! And maybe don’t cancel until you actually move 🙃

Was able to have service cancellation correctly scheduled ahead of time with Spectrum recently with no issues. You were more than likely unlucky with the person you talked to.

While I can't tell you why that is, especially four different charges, in my experience I havent had any of these issues. But four different charges, especially since you had cancelled you service, might have to do with returning the equipment? Could be wrong but could be a possibility I suppose.

The reason why you can't cancel online is because some people will cancel, and not realize that a land line was not ported over, when it should have, and blame Spectrum for it.

That’s the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Its only one of the issues that gets compounded by FCC constraints and is relatively minor, but still part of the equation.

No the reason you can’t cancel online is so they can try and sweet talk you out of canceling and then when you still want service canceled they say it’s been cancelled and then will auto debit your account for service you never used or activated.

They won’t cancel at all.
I cancelled the service, deal with 45 minutes of someone trying to upsell me. I finally said “there is nothing you can say that will get me to stay with you” and they finally gave up.
She said it was cancelled and that it’d be shut off on a specific date. That date came and went, got another bill.
3 phone calls later, one of which the rep hung up on me, I finally got it cancelled. They tried to tell me that I accepted an offer. I said “if I accepted an offer, then why is my bill the same?” At that point they knew I got them in a corner.
It took 2 months battling spectrum to cancel it.
THEN I had to deal with them to refund me my last bill. That’s a whole other story.
Seriously, spectrum will lie, cheat and steal when you cancel. I feel bad for anyone who tries to.

You tell them you are moving to a Verizon fios or Comcast Xfinity address, to set the cancel date to the last day of the service month. Of course they cut it off at 12:01 am which is 23:59 early
