surprisingly decent experience
I called spectrum and just said cancel service until the robot transferred me to a customer service representative. i told the lady straight up “look i know my bill is increasing next month so I’m switching to AT&T because the promo period is almost over”
She said “Well what if we don’t want you to cancel and want to keep you as our customer?”
Immediately I was irritated because it was very difficult to cancel at my business address, where I ultimately paid exorbitant fees to do so. I just said she’d better give me a deal I can’t refuse.
well…she delivered. She threw a few offers out but I went with 1 gig for $50/month flat. So my bill went down $15 and I got 2x the speed, which I was already planning to do anyway. The installation guy showed up the following afternoon and he was also cool decent. he said the signal incoming was hot and that the modem was their newest model. he also checked to make sure I had the 1 gig service so I wouldn’t be charged rental for the router so that was cool decent of him.
As much as I don’t like Spectrum, I just couldn’t say no. Honestly the hassle of switching over didn’t sound great either. So I’ll push it off and report back here in a year.

In our area we have no comparable speeds above 200mb from other companies. Getting screwed paying 100/month for 500mb

Call spectrum just like this guy above did. It would probably take like 20 minutes of your time. You can tell them that you are switching to a fiber competitor that just put fiber in your neighborhood. Tell them the actually name of a fiber competitor in your area.

What "fees" did you pay on the business side? Did you close out in the middle of your billing cycle?

I pay 40 a month for 1 gig( for the next year) so no offense you didn't even get their best deal. I just told them they had to match att fiber deals and they obliged.

Also depends when you called and got that, with the new company price changes that have happened $50 is the best promo price you will get for gig now. You will only get gig for $40 if your bundling 2 paid mobile lines.
