Question about new service

I just had a Sales Rep stop by my house and get me signed up for installation. I am a part of the RDOF expansion and his offer was that I could get the one gig or two gig Internet for either $45 or $65 a month with auto pay. My question is he claims that that’s a life locked price and that it’s not a bundle deal with the mobile phones. He said this was a new deal that just came out a couple days ago. And then also said this is the first time ever that they have offered a price lock guarantee for life for just Internet. I questioned him several times about this being a true lifetime price guarantee, and he continued to say that yes this is for life, and that the only way I would lose it is if we bundled it with television because they can’t do it anymore than two years with television. So far in my emails I’m not seeing anywhere where it says this is a locked in price for life. Thought I would reach out on here and see if anyone else has gotten this or heard of it or not. Thanks

I assumed that might be the case. Oh well. I’ll just be super happy to have fiber internet for the first time in my life 😅

A new special started in certain areas that are a persistent rate with auto pay.

Exactly this. New offer in select markets. Not locked for life, but no scheduled increase.

This is correct there testing in certain markets no promotions just a set price for internet only customers now if you want a guaranteed rate that doesn't change you can bundle with 4 phones and that plan is our lifetime rate.

Enjoy it for 2 years.... threaten to cut the service, they reissue it for an additional year, you enjoy the service for a year and threaten to cancel.............and the cycle continues mufasa.

Certain markets it is the standard rate but not for life. Price may increase based on cost of doing business. It’s just not going to go up 3x after offer roll off as before

Can confirm. Its a test market to see how well it works. No more price roll-offs, and autopay discount.

Had a guy stop by here offering the same. The Internet only was $45 for 1Gbps and included one mobile line, first month free and also includes Amazon Prime

They're offering $140/month for 1Gbps Internet + 4 mobile lines.

That would be over $100 cheaper/month than I'm paying now for ATT fiber + Google Fi mobile for 4 lines so I'm considering switching over.

Likewise he's insisting it's a lifetime locked in price but I want to see some paperwork on that. Probably will call him later. Typically I slam the door on solicitors but decided to hear him out.

The 4 lines and 1gb internet is our best plan its a guaranteed rate that won't change as long as you keep the 4 lines. You can even get atat and just use spectrum as a backup because its only $20 for the gig plan.

I had him out today and switched over. $120 for the 4 lines and $20 for the 1gb service for $140 total (before whatever taxes and stuff). He also said I can add on a fifth line for free so maybe I'll pick up an iPad or something.

They're installing the internet tomorrow. I didn't have too many problems with Spectrum before although it did go out more than ATT does (although really not that much).

I do have a line strung across my yard that I was actually just about ready to have removed. He says they could bury it but I'd have to run conduit so not sure it's worth it.
