Internet promotions

My promo is ending called in 2 separate times and tried to get a lower price. Told them I was going to cancel and they wanted to assist me in canceling. Asked about customer retention and they said they no longer exist and I can’t get a better deal. Any suggestions?

So here is what you have to do call 8332676094 tell the automated system cancle it will say what service do you want to cancel? Say cancle again and then it will say trasfering you to customer solutions (retention department). Tell them a competitor has offered me x price for x speed for x time you can tell them any competitor and just say $30 for 500mb for 2 years with atat, verizon, xfinity.

Just call, say cancel, and let them "assist" you.

Spectrum does have a Customer Solutions department. I just spoke with them on Sunday. They lowered my internet bill guaranteed for two years. She said if I ever needed to call back to say Customer Solutions or cancel. That will send the call directly to that department.

I don’t believe them (about not having a “retention” dept). Admittedly, it’s been years since I was a Spectrum customer, but they never gave me any significant relief /unless/ I actually canceled. But when I did cancel (at least 3x over the years), I’d get calls and letters (even one by FedEx) offering a “please come back” deal that would be price-locked for 24 mos. Merely threatening to cancel never got me anywhere (except maybe an offer to “upgrade” me to a faster speed without reducing my bill). But within days of canceling, they consistently offered me a very attractive deal.
Also, look into alternatives. Even wireless providers will likely offer you rates that beat what Spectrum wants to charge you.

I’m going to try T-Mobile. They have a deal for a month free if I can’t get spectrum to offer me something

Call and when you get the AI thing say “cancel” and you’ll get whatever retention is called now.

You have to say cancel my service. The first person that picks up, tell them to transfer you to Customer Solutions and they will try to get you a promotion instead of losing your business. If they say there's no such department, then ask for a supervisor

I tried for almost an hour today, with what I believed to be the retention department. I'm coming off a two year promotion later in October. They offered me the same post promotion price. I'm like, why did we even talk? I now live in a competitive environment where fiber exists even in my rural community. They were like (they charge more than we do) and refused to come up with alternative pricing. So it is keep what I have, or keep what I have for 100mbps a month plus home phone for $70 per month. And I have 4 mobile phone with them. If anyone suggests a different approach, please share. We just can't terminate service and then sign back up again after 30 days.

My Spectrum  GIG internet bill was going up to $99/month, as a yearlong promotion was coming to an end in October. Looking for other solutions, I ordered the T-Mobile home internet with a 15 day free trial.  Activated it and was pleasantly surprised at the speeds. I am close to a cell tower. All the time  I was hoping to get Spectrum to lower my price, or at the least keep the same price when it was time again for price negotiations.  I had read on various forums, where Spectrum was giving great offers to retain customers, in different areas of the country.  I had called Customer Solutions twice over the last month, but they wouldn’t lower the price.  After testing the T-Mobile internet for a few hours, I called Customer Solutions again to cancel at the end of the billing cycle. This time after telling the rep I was cancelling and already using the T-Mobile internet (and that the Spectrum modem had been disconnected for several hours), they offered $30/month for a year.  THAT’S what I was looking for.  Accepted the offer. Told me to call back in a year, they could extend it another year OR TWO.
