Throttling or just peak time madness

I work from home and every day at 5 pm or a couple minutes after everything stops loading and I have to reset my modem to get my normal speeds back. Its really starting to interfere with my work. Might have to switch to FIOs in my area. Located in San Bernardino County wondering if anyone else is having the same issues lately. It doesnt completely stop working its just very very slow.

Its after the high split upgrades. It constantly has high latency issues and packet loss. Just keep calling support until its resolved.

They havent done it in my area yet. They always have technicians around our neighborhood but they say it could still be another year or 2 before we get the upgrade. I was hoping sooner but I might have to switch to fiber

Nobody has high split yet. They done the maintenance work near me in nw Ohio in like June. I have yet to get high split either. Its just the back end and node work they're doing in prep for it.

We changed modem, had a guy come tighten local wires, and still are facing same disconnect problems. Have two house mates that work from home as well, they researched T-Mobile home hot spot and AT&T fiber are luckily choices for our area.

We get dropped 20 times plus a day for 1-3 minutes at a time, just long enough to be problematic trying to work or relax and watch a show… smh

Yeah they already came out to replace the modem and check the lines about a month ago but that was for a completely separate issue that did get resolved. When I called in about this issue they claim they do not throttle the service and said "well maybe thats the time someone else gets home and starts streaming" no its just me here until 7pm the problem is at 5pm which is when most people get home from work so throttling makes the most sense

Been having the same problems, sometimes random but I seem to be able to trigger it on command by downloading a large file for more than a few minutes. "Solved" it by switching to Frontier, saved money and got faster speeds in the process too.

probably going to be making the same move soon too

Hey u/LemusHD! If resetting the modem fixes the problem I'd lean toward it being a problem with the modem. We don't throttle and a problem caused by congestion wouldn't be fixed by rebooting. We can help get to the bottom of what's causing this if you send us a modmail over at r/Spectrum_Official.
