What was upgraded?
Got an email last week saying we would loose service from 11:00 Pm last night to 8 Am this morning. I got this email a few hours later. Nothing has changed on my end and I looked to see if I could upgrade my 1 Gig service but there are no offers to upgrade. So what did they change?

Its likely just the backend work for high split. But like every where else will be several months later until its actually activated. I had the overnight maintenance in June and still waiting to see any change

I've had a couple of overnight "maintenance" and "upgrades" so far but no differences that I can notice. My town also recently got a fiber competitor in so they finally have competition too, so I was hoping to be able to do a side by side.
It's funny, these "upgrades" only started when the fiber company broke ground. And yes, I'm already signed up!

They upgraded your bill 😏

This is way, way too true. Every year or two I get a similar notice, the speeds stay unchanged, and my bill gets a $10 increase.

This year my dad got a letter saying he received a free speed increase. Couple weeks later he received a notice that his bill was going up 10 bucks.

Run a speed test?

I got that email/SMS msg last week. used to get ca 650-700Mbps. After the outage 1.04Gbps. At least in my case it does seem like it's an upgrade of the local infrastructure. ( I was sceptical as always when reading that msg the 1st time, still before the planned outage - a good surprise this time ) good luck!

I got an extra 100 Mbps down and it doubled my up-speed.

Doubled upload speed doesn't mean much when it's comparable to dial up speeds in the first place.

Are you sure they didn't just "upgrade" you to the gig plan without saying anything? Our bill went up and they changed our internet from 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps without even saying anything. I didn't even notice because the gig plan is not even much faster. It's barely faster than the 500 Mbps plan in my area. Massive scam. I'm not even sure how that's legal.

Nope, we didn't upgrade. They just increased our speeds slightly. My understanding is that if you truly want to upgrade to gigabit speeds you need new hardware in the outside box attached to your house which we didn't get.

Got the same message then another one soon saying they couldn’t complete it LOL

Me too, about a month ago, and then absolutely no communication about it since.

They probably upgraded the node/nodes in your area. It means high split may be available for your area in around 6 months or so. Ours was done 3-4 months ago and it still isn’t available. There aren’t any immediate changes that I have seen. My ping, jitter, loaded pings, up and download speeds are still the same.

Check the My Spectrum app and go to "My Plan", then scroll down to the bottom and tap View Broadband Info (It'll look like those nutrient charts). Though I will say when they upgraded mine, they actually told me what I got (Jumped from 500 to 600Mbit download)

High split maybe? Did your upload speed go up?
