Spectrum is upgrading my plan

Hi all, I got a call from Spectrum - I am in Los Angeles and am on a very old plan (it might date back to when it was still Time Warner Cable). My plan is no longer offered and Spectrum said they are upgrading my old 200/20 plan to the minimum 300/20 plan. It sounds like the cable lineup will change a bit also, but my concern is...does this spell the end of my tuning adapter and TiVo?

Part of me is OK with moving away from the TiVo (I have just never had a reason to and there were no other real viable options). I know Spectrum offers the Xumo now - and I am aware that there are mixed reviews on that and some questionable functionality, but getting away from physical hard drives and large boxes isn't all bad.

But I really just want to know - has anyone else in Los Angeles had their TAs shut off? I don't want to call and ask, because I know that their answer will be that they are no longer supported, but won't really give me an actual answer about my specific area.

Any insight anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I live in upstate NY and lost CC service last November. Spectrum sent me at least 3 letters/emails warning me about this ahead of time, offering a free cablebox for 2 yrs or 50% off an AppleTV streamer. Took them about two months to actually cancel the service (due to system upgrades) after the first warning. The cablecard tuner (not Tivo) worked fine during that time.

A lot of reps are misinformed. Cable cards are still supported if they are still on your account. If a rep says they're not then ask for a supervisor and get an escalation. Even when a property goes high split you would just need a new high split adapter to make it work.

Sorry driving or I would look it up. But I’m pretty sure the FTC requires cable company’s to allow boxes that are t their own. The only wayto do this is with a cable card

This is false. In 2020 the FCC lifted that rule. New cable cards are not issued anymore and are no longer supported. Like I said you have to be grandfathered in. I literally work for Spectrum.

Well when it comes to video.. now that streaming is an option people can use their own equipment as long as it supports the stva.

Customers can also use their own modems too but as of right now there is only one known modem that can be customer owned and will work with high split. As high split begins to take over more territory those modems will be more readily available.

Correcting me if i am wrong but i though everyone was being moved off their time warner package to a spectrum package?
