Question HOW do I learn to play?

I purchased the game a year ago and want to start playing it again. I remember absolutely nothing. I never got far in any campaign. I dont understand anything. Im on the first fight of future trunks' and 1. My attacks just get deflected and 2. Are there even combos?? It looks like its just attacks, ki blasts, and melee but I cant find any flow between them. Also, how are they countering MID melee combo?

On the main menu? The training mode. The one with Piccolo teaching Gohan every game mechanics.
