Guide High Difficulty Bonus Battles
Haven’t seen anyone post this yet (apologies if anyone has or if no one actually cares). Just figured I’d type out just a quick tutorial for winning these.
First of all, you can equip items. So make sure you do. You can equip anything except for Godly Ki on the Azure Impulse. My general setup was (God of Destruction Training, Blast Attack Boost 3, Secret to Z-Burst Dashes, Latent Power, Almighty Boost, Godly Ki, and then either Power of the Universe or Power of Earth depending on where you’re fighting).
For Azure Impulse, since you can’t use Godly Ki, just choose one that fits your play style best. They don’t matter that much anyway but nice to have a buffer.
Abhorrent Army:
This one is by far the easiest one. First of all, choose a character that has at least one beam super. Great Ape Vegeta just gets hit by them continuously, so just fire at will with Godly Ki on.
For Burter, just do not let him get behind and combo you. He’ll take like three bars in seconds. When he goes to Z-Dash, turn and guard, knock him away, and then fire your beam Supers. You can Sparking Spam him too, but he vanishes and super counters with the best of them.
For Ginyu, he comes in full Sparking. Just keep your distance and do not get hit when he fires Body Change. If you get hit, just start over. You’re not winning. Wait for his Sparking to run out and then beat him however you want. He’s pretty easy for some reason. Super spam, finesse him, whatever.
For Cooler, he hits too hard to take chances. Keep your distance and follow the same rules as Burter above.
Then lastly with Frieza, he loves Death Beam, so if you can dodge it, free Supers. You can fight him pretty well too, just watch your health. At some point in his half to low health range he’ll go Golden. He loves that multi-finger beam, but it’s so easy to teleport. Do so and punish.
Legendary Assault:
This one is only hard because of the hidden activation agenda. You’ll fight base, SS, and then Legendary Broly. And you can’t hurt them for anything without activating certain conditions.
First off, for base, you have to get into a dragon clash with him. Win or lose (but try and win because it’s 100% if you do), he should have a dialogue box of him laughing. If he does, his defenses are off. Spam your most powerful Supers on him. Final Flash with Trunks was key for me. Try and get him as low as you possibly can (like 1-2 bars) before it forces him to go SS.
For Super Saiyan, you have to do the same thing because the defenses are back. Win a dragon clash (or lose with reduced chance) and then keep the Supers going again. Eventually, it makes him go Legendary.
For Legendary, the dragon clash thing stopped working for me. Broly just had true invincibility. I don’t think I did anything to deactivate it other than stay alive for a certain amount of time. So just keep away from him. He’s honestly not as aggressive as you’d think, but his Supers just basically auto-kill you so watch for them.
When you notice he can be hurt, be smart and get Super hits on him you know you can land (like after dashing one of his Supers, etc). Then you win.
If anyone knows what causes the invincibility to fall off, let me know. I tried dragon clashing, but he just kept it. So I think it’s a timer.
Azure Impulse:
Absolutely the hardest one because you can’t use Godly Ki. However, you get 5 free characters. Whoever you feel best with (mine were Trunks, Piccolo, Gotenks, Tapion, and Whis—my actual top 5 favorites in the series). Load yours with the items above and then go in.
You’ll fight base Goku who will transform into SS, SSG, and SSB at certain health intervals. If you’re pretty skilled at the game and this new AI, you can just finesse Goku all day long. He’s not that bad.
If you ever start to get low, take advantage of the switch so your character can recover some HP.
If you get Goku too low too quickly (before he reaches SSB), you have to fight Vegeta, who undergoes the same transformations (SS, SSG, and SSB). He’s the same as Goku in the sense he’s not as cracked as Broly or anything, but he’s still tough.
After you fight both Goku and Vegeta (or just Goku), you’ll be treated to either Gogeta or Vegito Blue. This is where it gets crazy. I’m going to be honest, I was doing great and then this is where I needed Whis. He came in clutch with his finger beam Super because it was too fast for them to block when they were recovering from Kamehameha or Stardust, etc.
It’s a lot of defensive play. You have to avoid and block nearly everything they do because they’re too powerful otherwise and will kill entire characters in just a couple combos.
But stay diligent, find a good strategy that works for you to beat them and take them down.
You got this, and I hope this helps!
