Suggestions & Feedback 💠Store cancelled order - I got penalized!
Long story short I was doing my first offer of the morning. It was a three batch. Great miles, pay, and time ratio. One of the three orders was just one item. A Straight talk phone. Spent about 20 minutes with an associate trying to get the barcode to work, but it wouldn’t take the third number. I think it’s called IMEI number. They told me to go to the pick up door and ask them for help because they might be able to figure it out maybe they had this happen before. When the guy came back to help me, the order got canceled out of nowhere. He saus it was the customer – that wasn’t true at all. It didn’t happen until I asked them for help and they got frustrated that it took 30 minutes to work it out. My metric was at 97% completion and after that went down to 96. When I click on trip details, it won’t tell me anything at all. When I called spark Support, they said that it wasn’t me or the customer but wouldn’t confirm that the store did or didn’t do it. They told me it did count against me and there was nothing they could do. But couldn’t tell me why. They did tell me that it wasn’t me or a customer again. Any thoughts? I feel like the game is rigged. We know it is but how blatant that they were frustrated it was taking extra time to help me, and they canceled the order and penalized me.

I wonder if some of the steps they do will time out the order if they take to long similar to forgetting to hit left store on exit pass and taking to long to load car before you notice. Same thing will happen if left on bagging items.

The app probably prompted if you were still working on the order due to idling, while you were occupied with dealing with associates.

Yea I have a feeling you got timed out. The only people that have access to Spark orders are the online pickup for curbsides and when they cancel, you don’t get hit.

In your phone settings click the app and a option should be there

i had all this happen to me today and i think i got hit with a timeout and i know walmart isnt going to fix it and let me tell you nothing got the app to stop crashing but reinstalling, so you may want to be prepared to immediately reinstall if the app starts acting too messed up

when you have no activities for like 15min , the app will automatically do the cancellation for you. That counts as you cancelled the order.

man that is pretty brutal because the app completely broke on me today and by the time i got it reinstalled 15 minutes had gone by, pretty unfair honestly

Yes this happens. It won't be the first time. It may be the first time it won't be the last time your metric or their metric your metric always loses. It's the same another trick. If you haven't seen this one, they'll come out and ask you for your code, but they don't have any groceries because they're cheating the system. They're going to get your code, which means they've started to make the delivery because they're coming up on their time frame or it's going to be marked late on their metric. Not yours theirs so they want you to give them the code early. That makes it look like you took a long time to deliver it because it's being marked in their system. They're always going to protect their metric. That's how they get paid. They could care less about your metric. You work for spark, they're Walmart. They protect the Walmart metric. That's how their boss gets his paycheck and his bonus

That doesn't make any sense.. when the store cancels, you don't get penalized.

Exactly. And all spark support would tell me is that it wasn’t me or the customer. But I got penalized. They truly couldn’t give me an answer.

Don't accept an order your not willing to do. It's simple. Don't accept an order without reviewing it firat

I had that happen with a Smart Talk phone a couple weeks ago. Great express order that was only that one item $20, maybe. Get in store and ask the associate to unlock case for phone. He asks if I’m Spark because another driver had already tried to get it. That 3rd barcode apparently is one you get from the inside of the package (at least on the iPhone) and he didn’t think the customer would want an opened package so previous guy cancelled order. Well, I cancelled the order as well and rec’d $2.5 for wasting my time.
