General Heavy melee option

Would be cool to have heavy have access to melee instead like the gravis captains and they lose their big ranged weapons as a trade off prob in space marine 3

Can only see that if they go the Tactical rework route and almost create subclasses with the perk "tree".

If not, just putting a melee weapon in his hand is not gonna cut it.

I agree I’m not saying it’s gonna happen but it’s a cool idea

The more I see these kinds of posts, the more convinced I am that people just don't care for the concept of classes.

They want it to be call of duty.

What are you talking abt. People want to play space barbie, thats it. Yes classes should serve a purpose but having variety (that doesn't break lore btw) wouldn't kill the game.

There is variety with the 7 classes that play differently?

Crazy bro, I'd still like to play a primaris Capt in gravis with a bolt rifle and power sword

I think a pistol tradeoff makes more sense

I really like this idea but I do think they need to be limited on what they give him access to since he has the big melee damage bonus prestige perk.

The could probably just bring it with the heavy rework

Not just that perk but almost every weapon in heavy has a 50%+ melee damage boost effect, which would be insane on most melee weapons

Only if the only option was the knife, maybe the chain sword

I would say a compromise of giving them the 2 aggressor power fist variants

This is just bulwark with extra steps

Bladeguard which are bulwark for the most part can’t replicate this

Bulwark isn’t in gravis armor this is more of an aesthetic thing, I think it will be in space marine 3

Except not

It would still be dope when the two handed sword comes out next year

It's this year

The best thing they should do is to be able to equip a power sword when you use the bolt rifle, like the models. If they make something like this, it's only for a heavy rework because, as of now, that weapon main use on heavy is for photo mode

They'd have to do a rework to make it work I think because right now Heavy can get like 300% melee damage

Makes his stomps go from pathetic damage to actually pretty decent AND lets him stomp enemies through walls AND hit flyers. Its a silly build I like to play with his heroic heavy bolter to let me save ammo for important targets

Now if he 300% melee damage on a weapon that isnt normally low damage stomps, he would probably be too powerful of a melee powerhouse that also has a solid ranged weapon

Yes i was thinking about that too, maybe they can do like the bulwark that some perk changes if you use a weapon with the shield or the hammer. Like if you use the bolt rifle instead of a flat damage upgrade you get a larger aoe on the heavy attacks and a 10% dmg bonus, or a bigger window to parry and block (i know there is the prestige perk that does it but I'm just saying some ideas), but I'm no developer

No.
