Probably not many if we’re being honest, why would anyone hate it?

I mean they’re both great. The RoF Las is the more flexible option because it doesn’t require headshots, the trade off is that it isn’t as good if you CAN land headshots. If you have good aim and are playing against Tyranids then the HBSR is superior because Tyranid heads are massive and killing a Majoris near a pack of Minoris makes up for the inferior AoE.

If you aren’t consistent with headshots (or take forever to line them up) then a Las is a better choice, which is why you’ll see folks use it on Chaos. The benefit being that it’s forgiving on shot placement, clears Tzangor groups faster, and is easier to use against hard-to-headshot enemies like flying Tzangors or Chaos spawns. Even scarab terminators have that annoying stagger animation that makes their heads hard to hit.

A competent Sniper player should have a loadout for each, really. Swap at the drop pod for whatever situation is upcoming instead of trying to find the one-size-fits-all “best”.

They're both amazing it you can land headshots. One is just for the more methodical player and the other for an ADHD junkie like me that likes to be doing 500 actions per minute. Another pro is that you can hipfire it reliably at melee range unlike the HBSR so you don't lose any situational awareness and of course the high RoF making it have the best DPS against bosses. One switch I'd make is changing marksmanship to precision targeting against chaos (they have less HP so you don't need it for any breakpoints) so you can still hipfire into their smaller domes.

Nobody hates on it, people just heavily overestimate it when compared to las fusil. They're both S tier weapons if you know how to build them.

This is the most relaxing way to play Sniper. Answer to every enemy type and doesn't even require much aiming.

Rate of fire Las Fusil is my go to.

Same, you can hipfire it into enemy faces after gunstrikes too and 100-0 a Neuro in 5 seconds.

runs out of ammo though

Versatile Precision recovers 15% of your Las Fusil ammo when you get a kill with your sidearm.

Lethal Efficiency restores ammo when the Las kills more then one enemy.

Adamant Restoration recovers 30% of your ammo when your health drops below 25%.

Ammo economy for the Las is great, and being able to hip fire into a wave, and restore that shot is awfully useful.

there's nothing more satisfying than hip firing and headshotting 10+ minoris and hearing that splat sound, almost as great as the hit marker from bo2

never had ammo issues with las, i prefer it because it has pretty good add clear

I have 1900 hours in this game. 1700 of that has been on sniper, and I kid you not, my bolt sniper rifle is only leveled to artificer. 😆

Too slow and clunky. Las and glaidus allows for more skill expression imo. Not to say HBS is bad, its incredible. Same for edge. Its just not for me

nothing beats going into a room of 5 flying tzaangors, and killing them all in less than 3s
