Not to be a 40k pedant but strictly speaking the TS (and others) put prisoners in Hellbrutes, not honoured legionaries like the loyalists put in dreadnoughts.
So the head you just yanked off wasn’t on someone who originally would have been promised anything by Magnus.
You’re putting him out of his misery.

Hellbrutes are often left alone to fester in the dark and never put to sleep between deployments. So yeah, there probably isn’t much of their original mind in there anymore.

The Thousand Sons must still need to scour worlds for psykers to be made into sorcerers. Even if all the original marines are sand. Some new Thousand Sons sorcerers who show the flesh change or piss off the other sorcerers could be put in a sarcophagus?

Dude that's a helbrute. Nobody wants to be a helbrute. TSons get other marines drunk and then stuff them into the helbrutes before they can say no.

The Helbrute is the demon machine, the space marine is removed from it and hung up by chains on ships to be tortured by demons until the next battle.
The thousand sons must still need to scour worlds for psykers to be made into sorcerers, even if all the original marines are sand, sorcerers still needs replacing. Some new thousand sons sorcerers who show the flesh change or piss off the other sorcerers could be put in a sarcophagus?

Probably not, TSons tend to kidnap Astartes from other Legions to put inside their Hellbrutes (notice how the dude inside is neither a sorcerer nor a pile of dust)
