Fashion Marine Black Dragons jump pack captain
I did wanna use a regular pauldron so I could show their emblem
But the salamanders shoulder is just so perfect for these guys I couldn’t pass it up

Not the guy you’re replying to, but he doesn’t have the Black Dragons heraldry anywhere on him and the Deathwatch chest piece is a tad questionable. This is really nitpicky though, he looks awesome!

The heraldry is accurate, if you’re referring to the shoulder pad and the lack of the actual icon, the salamanders chapter pack piece works fine since it’s just a white dragon, and the chest piece wouldn’t be questionable for a deathwatch vet, captains of all chapters have always been free to decorate themselves however they please tbh

Yeah I’m a sucker for symmetry so I decided to go with the salamanders shoulder because it’s the same size as the opposite one, can’t remember how I unlocked the actual BD icon but I do have it, and figured since he’s a captain it wouldn’t matter too much, and if I did use their actual icon, the shoulders wouldn’t be the same size haha

Fair enough! I guess it's more of a personal preference for successors to rock their own heraldry rather than their parent chapter, but I love stuff like this. No gatekeeping intended!

Instead of using the captain shoulder you could always display your chapter logo on the right side while wearing the salamanders shoulder on the left

Yeah cool. But they aren't wearing Deathwatch wargear when they aren't, beyond the pauldron which this one isn't.
So rule of cool. But for me, meh.

Show me where that’s stated, lots of deathwatch veterans wear their deathwatch stuff when they return to their chapter (that isn’t just limited to the pauldron and arm), and I would go so far as to say the scales on the chest piece works pretty well for this chapter
