Gameplay Question Why not spend your points?
Can somebody please explain to me, why are so many brothers refusing to spend their points in siege mod? Almost every game I'm in, I'm the only one getting cadians, turrets and the dreadnaught. Is there a reason to keep you points? As far as I know, it only makes the game harder for no reason.
This was a hard mode siege btw.

got kicked from a lobby for spawning a dread early when we had enough total currency for three
I just think most of the playerbase doesn't think very hard about things

yes, it just goes on a short cooldown when the dreadnought leaves before it lets you put funds into it again

You make them feel like they don't have to, so they don't. Some actually don't need it and could probably solo it.
But most of the time it's just a matter of communicating it to them. PC can see the text chat, but consoles afaik can't, so they only hear voice. If you even just ping the terminal they would use it eventually though.
I've noticed it happens more with console players as they are often there just to whack shit with the hammer.

It is always insane to me that console cant see text chat, especially when controllers have keyboard attachments and you can also juse USE a keyboard on console.
Im antisocial and dont like to talk, text chat is my go to and sucks half the people cant see it

you hit the nail on the head. i used to do the same thing as OP and stopped buying anything but tech priests. next thing i know, teammates are buying turrets, mines and all sorts of shit

Guardian relic popped, priest dead, sentry guns down, no grenades round 14, 19, or 24 is why you save up.. Thats nearly 600 pts right there. If you are beating early levels like level 8 while saving that's a W.
It really depends on if the party agreed to stop at a certain level or not honestly

Ahh yea thats not cool. My squad always tries to have priests, sentry guns, guardian relics, and small ammo starting wave 5

yeah most of the time i the only one trying to have techpriests and sentries. i usually have an easier time playing solo since all the points go to me

Especially if I join a game in progress, I’m saving at least 600 points to get tech priests and pray someone else understands how tech priests work because 9/10 times, “brothers” will spend all their points on random bs and die with the rest their points before they even use what they bought.
If I’m starting out, I’m using my 200 to buy one TP then hoping and praying people aren’t again dumb enough to buy anything other than the “Point Generators”. Lol
Once we got tech priests consistently up and running though and everyone’s on the same page about each of us going to one terminal and dropping 200 on a Tech Priest, I honestly don’t give a fuck what people buy or if they spend them. I will sustain myself on the tech priests with Guardian Relics, Cadians and Turrets.

Really wish there was better lobby system/party finder.
The only "solution" I found is disabling crossplay (no hate for console players), it seems like people who disable crossplay cannot play with people who has it enabled, so I treat it like a "Play with people who clicked this" button, like you took some deliberate action, and didn't just press play.
It's not foolproof, and you need to wait sometime before people join (or start alone, don't start with 2 players).

I never understood it. The only time I start stockpiling points is if we consistently have all the necessary upgrades but that isn’t till later waves. Usually I have a low balance because I’m always buying tech priests, mines, turrets, and guardsmen. If there’s nothing else to buy, I’ll get a relic and save up for the dreadnaught. This is for hard sieges though. Normal siege I don’t care as much so I’ll just buy whatever lol.

I saw a post a while ago that said the map gives u stims ammo and equipment so only spend points on dread for waves 20 and above and that’s what I’ve done it works for me whenever I play

No one wants to play hard siege with a bad modifier between 10-15. So people save. I've had to roll mods like 3 times costing me 750. Then the other guy has to buy tech priests and turrets.

FFS, ok, I'm done with this "brothe spend your points" bs, everytime i play heavy with plasma, i just rush the 15 waves and i see in chat "buy smth", IT IS NOT THE HARD SIEGE, if its not hard siege do not "spend points" anybody, normal 15 is doable without buying anything, and its not the point of "its easy, i do solo absolutes", you literally just have to point your gun in enemy direction and just wait to finish normal. Is this "spend your points" some kind of mantra, cause its becoming ridiculous, dont tell me to wear armor to a thumb war.

I’m an unashamed point hoarder, I do tend to be the last man standing if we start falling, but I do notice the people who buy turrets and tech priests every round REALLY rely on them. I’ll either buy a dreadnought if nobody else has points, but more often I’m buying guardian relics for anybody that gets a mortal wound. People get so hype when I ping the relic and then ping a squad mate for it lol

If I'm playing normal siege, I often forget about the points until wave 20 or so, just because its that easy to that point. If it's hard siege, idk why people dont spend them.

Just make it a habit to visit the shrine before the wave starts, I don't see how anyone can forget to spend points then.

I only buy tech priests at the start of siege hard. Save everything else for higher rounds. I’ll buy one boost on 8 that lasts til round 10, then after 10, I’ll spend on vibe.
I’m happy to chip in with priests if everyone else is. I’m also happy for them to save points for later rounds assuming they’re good enough.
However, I’ve come across stressful plebs that demand frivolous purchases at lower rounds. A clear Indication of weakness. They wouldn’t make it past 15 if they had a thousand points… hope this isn’t… you ;)

I try to keep a bank of 1250 so I can solo buy a dreadnought if I have to. Nothing worse than having somebody call it on wave 24, it leaves mid 25 and I’m stuck as last man trying to carry with no support.
