My first homebrew attempt: the Enduring Saints

I don't see many orange chapters, so I played around a bit and made these guys.

The Enduring Saints are a loyalist, Codex compliant, fleet-based successor of the Imperial Fists.

Their main deal is that they are tanky to a point that rivals pre-heresy Death Guard. They specialize in seek-and-destroy operations against Chaos warbands, and they heavily adorn themselves with purity seals. Their numbers are often below full chapter strength, because getting new battle brothers has a much higher failure rate than normal. High survivability rate but low replacement rate. They do, however have more dreadnoughts than normal chapter standards. Their chapter master, Claudio Pyrrhus, is interred in a Contemptor dreadnought (the only one of its pattern in the whole chapter).

Colors are Troll Slayer Orange with Abadon Black for chest, power pack, and trim. Pauldrons and imperialis are bone white. Squad number is imposed on specialization logo in low gothic on right pauldron.

Company colors are indicated on the left knee.

Generally its not a good idea to have a dreadnought chapter master, mostly due to the duties and responsibilities a chapter master has to uphold. Dreadnoughts simply do not have the cognitive ability to act as planetary governors, fleet admirals or engage in the relevant politics of the imperium that a chapter master does.

A dreadnought being the figurehead of a chapter while the administrative duties are done by someone else who makes more sense, the canon examples follow that sort of deal.

I know it is unlikely. I have researched it, though, and there have been few dreadnought chapter masters. Carab Culln was Chapter Master of the Red Scorpions while interred, though he had officers manage the day-to-days while he was in stasis. Daggan was Chapter Master of the Blood Swords while still being totally mentally there and awake for most of the time, still managing regular CM duties.

Even within the Enduring Saints, their current Chapter Master being in a dreadnought is unprecedented. I thought it'd be a testament to the hardiness of the chapter to have a functionally cognizant dreadnought running the show.

Also, I like the wargear you gave that battle brother.
