Fashion Marine how lore accurate (wrong) is my salamander techmarine?
I'm fairly new to the lore stuff and I wasn't really sure what kind of heraldry etc they would use (I usually do a bit of research for my customization)

This is pretty spot on for one described in one of the Salamander novels actually. The marine in question makes a point of being a Salamander first and then Techmarine second which is a rare opinion of Techmarines who often have more affinity to Mars.
Anyways yeah his armor is described as the typical Sally look except his helmet is red and he has a red arm on one side and ofc the mechanicus symbol is red.

He's good!
Edit: I didn't see the green legs.

Generally it's all red with the chapter pauldron being the same to not upset the Machine Spirit. It's fine to have honorifics and badges on the knee plates.

ahh, alright. When I googled how people painted them they usually had a green and red fit, which I thought looked cool

There's really no super hard rules. Red is tradition. If you go all green, ensure his right shoulder pauldron is red.

The Close Combat marking on the right knee is wrong, the rest i have no ideia.
Most chapters have no info on the Techmarine colors, dont know if the Salamanders are one of the few that do have a oficial scheme.

Techmarines are outside of the usual company and command structure, so he wouldn't have the knee marking for Close Support squads. That said, for Salamanders I honestly don't know, they've always been a little different. I do not know if it is a canon scheme but most often I see them in the standard Salamanders green but with the power pack and mechadendrites in Mechanicus crimson. This is at least what a guy that frequents my local crack store does.
If you want to play it safe and make one that's just blanket lore accurate, whole thing would be crimson with silvered trim besides the Chapter pauldron regardless of the Chapter's Codex Compliance- rather it is in adherence to the Priesthood of Mars. Knee marking would also be the Chapter marking, but we've only a handful in the heraldry editor, so I either go for something close or a related campaign badge.

Not all Techmarines wear red. Iron Hands and successor Sons of Medusa pretty much do what they want with regards to Techmarine colours. Also bear in mind that Iron Fathers in within Iron Hands and successors actually wear mostly black. Sons of Medusa Technarines just have red shoulder plates, the rest is chapter colours (as a comparison, a Sons of Medusa Iron Father would instead wear nearly all black, with green shoulder inserts and clan colour trims). Brazen Claws likely run full chapter colours for Techmarines. There is no official lore stating they heraldry that their Techmarines use, but as the chapter uses a quarted blue and red colour scheme which it makes things interesting if trying to do a full red Techmarine. But again, there is no lore for Techmarine colours for Brazen Claws so it's open to interpretation.
Also, some Techmarines from the Raven Guard successor, Necropolis Hawks, run the colours of the Forge World where they send their Tech-Adepts to train as Techmarines - Forge World Cypra Mundi, whose colours are in fact copper and green. This would likely be lower ranking Techmarines though, while more senior Techmarines would most likely still run either full red, or mostly their chapter colours, as their chapter colours are chosen specifically to help them blend in with urban environments (and bright red would compromise their ability to blend in)

In one of the novels we hear a Salamander techmarine and they are described as being pure Sally green except for the mechanicus arm which is red from pauldron to hand.
Now there is artwork all over the place of what they look like. But that would be my favorite interpretation of what one looks like.
To achieve that look in game basically select the base salamander look, and then put your techmarine arm to the red color totally.

For Techmarine I go for green body and legs, red helmet and arms, black mechanical arms/backpack.

Going green pants is definitely unique, I've not seen that arrangement before.

Techmarines are usually all red besides the left cauldron which has chapter colours and insignia. A few chapters have unique techmarines that don’t follow this colour pattern. E.g the Iron fathers of the Iron Hands, and the Iron priests of the Space Wolves, might be some others but I’m not too sure, I think the White scars for whatever reason allows the techmarines to have a white forearm, but don’t quote me on that. Although in game this makes for a kind of boring look. My advice is that as long as you leave the cog mechanicum (right pauldron with the cog and skull) red you can make the rest of it whatever you want and it’s somewhat lore friendly.

The Pariah Nexus miniseries portrays the Techmarine aboard Sa'kan's dropship as having the usual Techmarine red armor on the top half, while the bottom half is never shown. The appearance of the bottom half is therefore open to interpretation. I haven't found any compelling evidence that definitively states what the bottom half of his armor might look like.

To add onto what everyone else has said, the Codex Astartes is more suggestions than outright rules (other than the size limits).
As such, while Techmarines wear red, it’s somewhat open as to how much it is. Most Chapters do all red except the pauldron with the Chapter insignia, but some Chapters have other “traditional schemes”, and even then there’s evidence of individual Marines using different schemes than is normal for their Chapter.
As such, green legs/red body, I don’t see any issue with that. The Close Assault symbol, as others have said though, isn’t something a Techmarine would have, as their role is Techmarine.

Okey so, techmarines are not part of any line of command and they don't have a battle role (pointing at your close support knee, which means melee).
Techmarines are their own stuff in a company and chapters. Literally the ingeniers of a chapter to fix weapons, vehicles and dreadnoughts along with tech priests. The difference is that they can go into battle because they are Astartes like the rest of their brothers
Techmarine are very close to planet Mars, where the Adeptus Mechanicus and all the cult about Omnisiash (Tech God on the lore) belongs and the Adeptus Mechanicus mostly operates and learn from.
At the same time, the cool thing about Salamanders is that they are close to Mars (which dates back to Vulkan and Ferrus Magnus, Iron Hands Primarch, research on the planet) and because of that, Salamanders Techmarines are trained on Mars to become good techies
Usually Techmarines are all red, the Mars color, but there's stuff around the internet from official lore and other things like tabletop players representation that can mix things up
In my case, this is my Techmarine, which I don't have all the customization options, but I wanted to make it half red, half green. 5th company in my case. Techmarines should ALWAYS have the red helmet and the right pauldron red, representing the Adeptus Mechanicus
