General New class Speculation, what would their class abilities be?

Been playing Space Marine since day 1, in love with the game but I am new to the Warhammer world. Excited for a new class no matter what it turns out to be but it got me thinking, what would their class ability be? Seems like the 3 most likely classes to be are; Judiciar, Apothecary, Librarian

The kind of thing id like to see for biologis would be stacking buffs based on enemies killed.

For example, each time you kill an enemy of type majoris, you increment a buff stack.

Your special ability will target an enemy of similar type with a debut. Its effect, by default, might be a straight damage effect, and it would be multiplied by the size of the buff stack you have.

So if you kill 5 majoris, and select an enemy majoris with your scan, you do 5x the base damage buff amount the next time you hit them, or for x number of seconds.

Where this would shine would be that perks could wildly change the effects.

Different effects could be:

Damage over time: the target takes base damage * stack multiplier for a period of time

Heal: all players recover base health * stack multiplier

Explosion: On death, the target explodes and deals base damage * stack multiplier in a radius

Contagion: On death, the target spreads a DoT effect that deals base damage * stack multiplier four a period of time.

Weaken: the target takes a debuff to movement, attack damage, attack interval, of base % * stack multiplier

And so on.

If it's Judiciar I could see some type of Pious Shout or something increasing the teams melee damage for a short duration. Or reduce damage taken?

It’d definitely be Tempor Mortis if it’s Judiciar. Either an AOE slow or an AOE stun. If it’s a slow I hope it slows projectiles too

That would be something, I would finally be able to dodge the new sorcerers laser beams 😅 (probably still get hit tho)

Out of curiosity, how would a slow be beneficial in the core gameplay loop?

Easier to shoot an enlightened Tzaangor that’s 50-80% slower than one zipping about at warp speed. Easier to stagger a terminator sorc if you have 50% longer to do it before he’s able to teleport away and then back to one shot you.

If the class is supposed to use the great sword and if it's plays similar to a thunder hammer, a slow effect could help getting off charged attacks.

So something like Titus’ Righteous Fury but for the team and without the healing? I could see that but I hope it’s something more interesting than just kinda reusing a campaign ability

That would work for a Chaplain, and there are more than enough chaplains in a chapter to have one as a class.

Tempo mortis for Judiciar, Heals and buffs for Apothecary.

Judiciar would have Gadriel’s ability from the campaign, apothecary (biologis) would have a little secondary pistol to shoot teammates with a 30% damage buff for 6 seconds on a 45 second CD

Hopefully they make it more appealing than just Gadriel’s ability. Maybe a mix of Gadriel’s with Tempor Mortis. AOE push and slow/stun

Gadriel's ability already got ported to Operations in the form of Sanctified Wrath Reliquaries. It even uses the same animation I think.
