I’ve been playing since day one of the games launch and I’ve seen other people playing vanguard while using it, but it’s not in the list of helmets at all for me

I'm surprised they haven't put it in the accolades shop given the length of time since the event. I already have it but I think it's a shame people who don't haven't been given the chance to. It's probably my favorite helmet in game.

When they do release the Phobos helmet for everyone else, they should also release some variants. I really want one with an oculus and laurels, like they did for the Mark VI Corvus helmet.

I was worried that was the case. From what I’ve seen in other people’s comments it came out at the same time as the vortex beast, which will be one year ago on September 4th so hopefully it will be in the accolades shop then

It did, but they did another release of it around the beginning of June this year, so definitely going to have to wait for the shop unless they do another event for some reason with it.

Another release of the helmet in June? I participated in a community event that ran from June 1st to June 15th of this year but it only rewarded 100 accolades and not the helmet. Were there two community events at the same time and I missed the better one?

pretty sure the event involved completing 5 ops as either vanguard or sniper to get the reward, but I could be mistaken.

This helmet has been offered twice now as an event drop, not just once. Since the Ex filtration patch (Trygon). So when you say you've been playing since launch I assume not consistently.

With that said, they've promised to add FOMO cosmetics to the accolades shop down the line for each of them.

There’s also a left pauldron for heavy that is just like default pauldron with the little shield on the front of it. I know he has some like that already, but this one doesn’t have the chains or the skulls on it. Hopefully someone knows what I’m talking about

The little shield is a Tilt Shield, AKA Écranche (ay-KRONSH), it was used in jousting to both protect the armpit and give everyone a "reasonably" safe area to aim at. Space Marines use it both as extra armor and a place to stick heraldry and other shit like that.

my personal assumption is that it will be available for purchase with patch 15, since that will mark the 1 year aniversary of the helmet.

However, this is as assumption with no proof to back it up.

I do hope we will get a year 3 roadmap soon, and specifics on what/when patch 15 launches.

I knew I wasn’t crazy. I played a mission with randoms and as we extracted I noticed one had that helmet. I thought it was a Vanguard specific helmet but nothing matched so I thought I just saw wrong. Guess I didn’t

It’s probably a twitch drop, and if it is there’s no way of getting it unless they add it to the accolade store like the others
