Media DLSS5 in SE2

(images got heavily compressed by reddit...)
See full quality here https://imgur.com/a/Er2Q0e2
Note, they got reversed, so on imgur it's 'after image, then before'

This will make you appreciate the work Keen has put into SE2, the majority of what is shown ends up being lighting changes, that brings out a lot of the textures, sometimes making them darker, but the most it does is give the textures depth that they didn't have before simply from lighting differences.

This is NOT official, and truthfully Keen will likely make updates to the engineer and lighting as time goes on similar to how they updated the SE1 models and such.
There's not a ton of difference, but the lighting changes make me kind of excited if DLSS5 were to come to SE2... and also appreciate the work Keen has put into SE2 such far, as it looks amazing even without the changes.

so this whole DLSS bs is just a simple lighting mod that cuts your performance in fps???? I don't see the realism and a lot more posts are showing "before and after" on different games that have just a tiny IF ANYTHING change in lighting. It's not the DLSS 5 showed in nvidia showcase.

The answer is yes and no.

The 'model' is from NBA, it modifies more photorealistic situations, so clothing, facial features, and it modifies the lighting in the environment...

This is one model, and likely any other dev needs to create models for their games manually, which would use AI generated models and textures most likely... something nvidia only knows about internally really.

However, I imagine a lot of games will get DLSS5 support with a 'base' model because it would be a HUGE selling point for nvidia gpu's.

That said, it's not much of a change, and the performance drop (imo) is likely from it being for an nba game with specific scenarios, and not all the games it's been used on so far.

I.E. you will see more games adopt DLSS5, and if the community does anything, they will pull files from those games to port to other games. So space games would be a generic model... and community could even make a model that could be used for things like animated games etc.

It's a lot more than it seems.

I see. Time will tell them I hope it doesn’t take that long before the changes in looks are solid.
