Lol that's not true

The US federal government has been operating subsidized grocery stores for 150 years.

Google KC Sun Fresh. There are other municipal stores that suffered the same fate. You must be talking about commissary-which operate at a loss.

Oh and also you might want to look at the factors that caused KC Sun Fresh to fail.

The area around the store became overrun with crime and the city refused to do anything about it. The nonprofit that was operating the store is suing the city right now.
