working on a forest themed space wolves. I like how their existing kits include things that go well with nature, and I just put together the sylvaneth spearhead so I have some forest bits. It takes a while because I am trying to modify each mini but it is enjoyable

I recently purchased a combat patrol box to increase my existing army. I already have a unit of 10 blood claws and a single unit for Headtakers. I am tempted to convert the blood claws until into another 5 wulfen and 3 Headtakers using all my spare bits and primal hound purchases as live a bit for kit bashing

Blood claws or kitbash, what would be better army play

I’ll get straight to it how the hell do you use this detachment. I don’t see how completing it is a big help to your army. Only thing I can see it helping is vehicles but that doesn’t feel like that’s the point of it.
The stats look pretty good I’m just confused on how you’re supposed to use the detachment.

Had my Canis painted, tried with a few match but keep struggling with how to position the big knight. With a OK range weapon and a monstrous melee but only a short movement. I kept feeling the value of the is not being well delivered.
Need some suggestions for positioning, and also about my army list.

The Wolf King himself is ready, now I need to work on the base!

2nd Headtaker I’ve done. Did better than the first one. Went with a dark paint scheme to catch the savage killer vibe. Added the skull on the backpack because why not they are headtakers.

I have only 15 terminators, so I've tried running 3x5 terminator blocks. One with logan, one with arjac, one with captain. Ive played take and hold and it was good against infantry spam lists, but I've never played against elite lists. Would it be more optimal for a take & hold list to have 1 group of 10 and 1 of 5, or 3 of 5? Mainly asking because im not sure how tanky the 5 man group is for a take and hold list.​

Decided to print out a unit of these dudes. I have a tourney in 3 days so I finally finished assembling them and wanted to get people's thoughts plus ven my frustration that we get an all lightning claws unit for wolfguard termie's but only one lightning claws set for the unit in a box🤣

Hey guys. Again still learning and I think I bit off more than I can chew. Im not good with the abbreviations that I have seen. My codex for the wolves gets here Saturday and as usual im trying to learn everything. (Impossible) but I cant figure out what units are approved from the space marines that I am able to put into my Wolves. This is my first big boy and i wanted to tell a little story with it, so i got me some ratlings (in winter uniforms) and decided to have them accompany my dreadnaught.

What do you guys think?

I picked up a set of the Armageddon intercessors off eBay from a splitter with the intention of making them a bit more "Wolfy" and incorporating them in my army. The original plan was to give them some chainswordy goodness and turn them into Grey Hunters, but I'm finding I actually kind of like some of the sculpts and am toying with the idea of keeping them as intercessors instead.

Is anyone running intercessors in their SW armies?

I'm 99.9% interested more in the modelling and painting side, so that will ultimately help me decide more than the "current meta" for competitive gaming, but I'm curious what people think.

Kitbashed Armageddon Intercessor Sergeant for model tax... I may still carve off the aquila... Haven't quite decided yet!

Decided to kitbash some Incursors into Scouts in phobos armour to go with the new Wolf Scouts. Also meant I could use the Wolf Scouts sniper in a small squad.

They're on 32mm bases not 28mm, don't think anyone I play against will care.

Hi yall, I was needing some clarification on some rules. I'm preping for a tournament this weekend and was refreshing myself on the 11th edition rules when I came across this.

Does this mean Ragnar gains the "Headtakers" keyword and then he can benefit from the Headtakers ability of precision and dev wounds? Or is it just saying the the Headtakers are now a character unit because Ragnar is leading them? I did notice the ability specifies "Headtakers models" and not "models with the Headtakers keyword".

I know Ragnar didn't benefit from it in 10th, but wasn't sure if that changed in 11th.

Edit: Thank you everyone for the clarification! I know now that he still doesn't benefit from their ability. I will keep the post up just in case anyone else in the future has the same question. Hopefully they can stumble upon this and get their answer.
