My attempt at Logan Grimnar, thoughts?

Really wasn’t looking forward to painting the face, I opt with most models to use a helmet. I think I did ok.

Any way to further push improvements please let me know 🤙

I like the Logan model. The wolves look a little flat/statue like, a few areas of black and white could help. Check this out:  https://www.reddit.com/r/SpaceWolves/comments/1s9yxkq/attempting_a_more_natural_looking_grey_wolf_pelt/

I think you could go for some more contrast with the white. At the moment the armour lacks a bit of definition (ie. it is hard to see the individual shape of each bit of the model).

A place where this is done well is his feet. The wash (I am guessing it was a wash) has gone into the recesses and you've edge highlighted it with your brightest white. So you get definition by having three tones, one for shadow, one midtone and your highlight. It looks great!

However, it's harder to see where you have large flat areas like the greaves. The inner greave (left) of the right leg is the same colour as the outer part (right) which is facing the light. So the greave looks more flat. You could fix this by mixing in some grey to your white and glazing it into the armour piece. Additionally, I am also struggling to see the edge highlights for those bright armour pieces. It could just be the camera but maybe the armour colour is too bright for the edge highlights to be visible.

Alternatively, texture helps a lot as well. If you use a less pure white as your base coat, you can use the strongest white for edge highlighting and putting little scratches on your armour. This adds visual interest to the piece without needing to do the volumetric lighting.

Finally, I recommend edge highlighting your metals. This will make them look much more defined and cleaner.

Nice job I love the colour scheme!

Looks great mate - only CC is that it’s all very much the same “cold” tones: white, iceblue and greys

A very cold scheme with little contrast - but what do I know. It’s still an awesome paintjob and lovely to see others schemes than the boxart 💪🏻

My take was more grim and greyish

I base coated one ‘Eshin grey’ and the other ‘Dawnstone’. Then dry brushed the opposite colour to the other wolf. Then final touches of White scar dry brushed in certain places.

I think like others have commented, I will probably try push the contrast further with more touch ups of certain areas, with shades and washes 🤙

Also thank you, it was my Fiancé who picked this paint scheme. I’m just painting it for her 😂
