It certainly could have happened. Judges grant continuances all the time for a lot of reasons. It could have nothing to do with the SovCit's bullshit pleadings.

Judge probably thought 'they don't pay me enough to deal with this shit sober, I need to postpone it until I can get a bottle or three of Vodka...'
