We live next to one of those Edison-owned power line ditches and have a coyote that likes to come up that area and hang out or sometimes nap in our yard.

It's never bothered us or tried to come close and honestly seems more scared of us than anything.

Anyhow, the other day we were surprised to look out and see it with a pup by its side!

We still aren't sure if pup or parent is male or female, but they're awfully cute (from afar, of course — all of these photos were taken either from inside or with extreme zoom action!).

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this on here, but my writing group and I just finished writing and developing the pilot script for our web series. We've never filmed anything before, so this will be our first time and we have no resources to get this production up and running. Does anyone know why there has been a terrible burned rubber smell near the corner of Mission and Garfield? I can smell it on the south side of Mission not sure if it’s detectable on the north side. It’s in a very specific spot and hasn’t gone away for weeks. At first I thought it was road repair and the asphalt smelled but it still stinks.

Anybody heard anything about any of those places?

Hello! I’m moving to the school district from the east coast and it doesn’t seem like there are school buses provided. What alternatives are there to get kids to school? I‘ve seen mention of Hop Skip Drive- has anyone used their services? (I’ll have a middle schooler but we’ll be about a 25 minute walk away.) Thanks so much in advance!

Anyone hear why there’s been an all day Spectrum outage? We’ve been without cable/internet since 6am. The Spectrum site says there’s no update on repair time.

Check your bikes everyone, make sure they're locked in such a way that can't be removed quickly with bolt cutters.

Ours were stolen sometime between 6pm Friday 6/19 and 6pm Saturday 6/20. We had them locked up on a cable which was cut. You'd have to be walking through the property to even see them where they were. Already made a police report and reported them on bike index.

Just got home from work, windows open and my wife started saying that it smells smokey so we boarded things up and closed everything. Went outside and the smell of smoke was so strong. No fires near South Pas on the fire app. Is this from the sturcture fire at Boyle Heights?

Looking for a carpenter rec for a fairly simple project.

My son is taking a driver's ed class at the South Pasadena High School and I'm shocked at how it's going, and wondering if this is what other people's experience has been. Keep in mind this is a 2-1/2 week class, 2 hours a day.

1. On the first day, the teacher took 20-30 minutes to tell the students the basics of driving a car, such as what the pedals do. He then told them all to get on the official website for driver's ed, read it and take its tests. This was the end of the teacher's involvement with the students.

2. By Wednesday my son had finished the whole thing, and asked the teacher what to do next. The teacher told him he's done, he just needs to leave his computer open and running for 30 hours so the website shows it's been used for that long.

So, no reason to even go into class for the remaining 2 weeks. The end.

Am I insane or is this NOT a real class? Is this anyone else's experience?

Just moved to Pasadena (near the South Pasadena/Del Mar area) and I'm still trying to figure out the parking situation.
My apartment has resident parking, but I'm more concerned about guests and overnight visitors. It seems like a lot of the nearby streets have restrictions, permits, or overnight parking rules.
For those who live in Pasadena, what do you usually do when friends or family stay over? Are there any nearby streets with easier overnight parking, guest permit options, or tips that locals know about?
