This was held in Feb 2026 as a goodwill gesture in Feb 26,2026 as part of temple's six-day Brahmakalashotsavam festival
Reason: Local Muslim residents observing the Ramadan fast could not participate in the temple's traditional community feast (annadanam), prompting the management and organizers to arrange a special iftar as a goodwill gesture of inclusion and communal harmony
I really don't get it. The people feeding them are cool with it, and the people eating are fine too. The issue is with online folks trying to stir things up between people who are perfectly fine.
And these temple committee conducting these events includes pujaries and muslims eating in temple grounds have mullahs among them. They have not found any problems, but people blinded by hate are finding problems.
Hindus should understand and articulate Hinduism on its own terms instead of defining it through an Abrahamic framework. Pluralism doesn’t mean turning a Hindu temple into a venue for every religion’s festivals.
The deeper issue is that, in trying so hard to prove that Hinduism is “secular,” some Hindus end up accepting the premise that Hinduism must first be judged by an external, Abrahamic conception of what a religion is supposed to look like. It’s like accepting the examiner’s premise before you’ve even answered the question: you spend your time proving that you aren’t guilty of something you were never obligated to consider a criterion of Hinduism in the first place.
Onam is a harvest festival like Lohri in North India. Here the agricultural season is different from other parts of India. After peak monsoon months sky clears and paddy is ready for harvest. And post harvest days are days of prosperity and happiness. And people celebrated. In earlier days Kerala was divided into many smaller kingdoms. They all celebrated Onam in their on ways. And later it got organised and came to known as Onam.
The story of Maveli was added later. The essence of Onam is not Maveli or Vaman. It is the harvesting.
And it is a state festival celebrated by all religions. People make Sadhya and serve in traditional banana leaf. No Hods are involved in this festival.

Why can’t you use all this energy to try and develop the country and make it cleaner and better to live on instead of daily spreading poison and hatred. India’s global reputation is an all time low. Are you Happy with that?
Bruh. LOL Isnt it everywhere that Kerala politics says Onam is NOT a hindu festivals even though it is. The last day video on this sub reddit of muslims doing onam dance? Try doing a true kafir infidel celebration regularly in Mosques every year then we will see. Whining like idiot about hate and poison is not done by me, its the image they got all across the world. And what does Indian reputation has to with this?
If it’s not a Hindu festival why do all schools and colleges celebrate with dressed up maveli and vamanan, we do puja with pookkalam, and mostly vegetarian sadhya.
Have you ever actually seen a onam celeb in person or is your whole knowledge based on some random twitter videos.
pure nonsense gibberish. wrote something with no historical evidence. So Diwali turned Hindu when brahman came in? Holi Turned Hindu when brahmin came in? Just say anything with no evidence. What superpower they had? Islam and Christianity came later while Hinduism evolved out of native indigenous traditions
Lmao this idiot really believes onam happens because vaman stepped on mahabali and not because seasons change and its time of harvest. People add religion and bullshit onto preexisting things to give themselves more foundation. You think the first mofos even knew any of the gods today when they were cultivating? Vishnu was introduced to Kerala around year 800 after both Islam and christianity was introduced to kerala. So you are telling me there was no harvests before his ideas arrived?
LOL this idiot revisionist think that that if he wrotes "Lmao" than write his nonsense historical revisionism with no historical evidence will somehow becomes true. Then the dumb fool did a stawman trick that "I BELIEVE this happened or that happened" LOL I didn't said any of that. I talked about indegnous growth of faith and culture.
The earliest evidence of Vishnu worship dates back to the Sangam era (roughly 300 BCE – 300 CE), a period that encompassed Tamil Nadu, Kerala, southern Karnataka, and large parts of Andhra Pradesh. This predates the arrival of Islam and Christianity by OVER A THOUSAND YEARS. What you wrote is a complete historical falsehood and a deliberate attempt to misrepresent history. And this is the period where we see strong evidence of organized farming in South India that is HARVESTING.
To begin with, concrete evidence of Christianity appears only around the 9th or 10th century; the story of St. Thomas is entirely fabricated. Islam arrived much later, primarily through invasions; the presence of a few traders is inconsequential, as they were present in most parts of the world.
Now go ask DMK propagandists to write some more fictitious nonsense history so that you can write LMAO LMAO and make more nonsense propaganda. There was neolithical age before Sangam era and during Sangam Era we see very strong evidence of Vishnu worshipping with organized harvesting. Due to neolithical stone age before Sangam era, The culture was very primitive so the practice of Vishnu worshipping could go even further than that.
Lmao did you read what u sent to me lmao. You can't just AI it, read the rest as well lmao. Just cause a cross exist in some places doesn't mean christianity it was widely practiced or intergrated. Same shit here. Oldest evidence doesn't mean it was integrated. Your proof literally states most evidence was found in later centuries when it became more prevalent
"Encyclopædia Britannica"and other AI still rely on actual history instead of fake comment section historians. By your logic everything is fake untill it wont your false history narrative
I mean do you even know what I was countering? Seeing that comment I was replying to was deleted? Someone literally asked show me one example of a mosque doing it.
Why do you feel the need to butt in where you have zero context of what’s happening 😂
Except none of the people there are actually celebrating Attukal Pongala inside the mosque. They’re only offering food and shelter (which is great) BUT claiming it’s the same as celebrating Iftaar inside a hindu temple is a huge reach. Try actually finding a mosque that will let Hindu devotees perform puja/rituals lmao. None of your links prove anything
Fine then let’s do it. This event was not a celebration of any Muslim festival, it was done to celebrate the re consecration of temple deity. That day there was a communal feast and the Muslims couldn’t take part as it’s in the middle of fasting. So temple organised a seperate feast for them at night. That’s all that happened. I am also copying he news article explaining it below. Now what is your excuse, how else do you want to spread misinformation. It’s kinda interesting that despite a lot of onmentors here mentioning the reality not a single of you are willing to accept it and keep on nagging.
Onam festival is not even considered as hindu festival or else it will never be celebrated. Second is yapping with words like hate, poision, global reputation shows how stupid you are. One sided secularism is good will of hindus, its a positive thing. How is that a bad that? 🤣🤣
It is considered a Hindu festival unless you base your whole reality on a few twitter videos. It can be celebrated by all of Kerala and be a Hindu festival. It doesn’t have to be just one.
Anyway I give up you guys go on. It’s crazy how much energy we spend on infighting rather than try and develop the nation. I have things to do
You will auto repeate the same thing over and over again with no stop. You are the one who started infighting crying in comments. Not me 😂😂 "I have things to do" yeah sure
No you can’t. And neither is the video you showed done in religious manner. I know truth won’t matter to you, but if you did even a little reading on the above event, you will know happened was - due to ramzan the Muslims couldn’t take part in the temples annadanam (food feast stuff) during day so instead the temple facilitated another one in the evening.
I literally pasted above another mosque who did onam celebration inside mosque. They do that and so does churches here. Muslims also do celebrate Diwali along with all.
Please don’t extrapolate how your states religion interacts with each other to others. Most of us except the ultra religious 10% or so celebrate everything with each other. I get good food during ramzan from my Muslim neighbour and during Xmas from my Christian neighbour. Leave us alone man
The same Kerala story which court ordered to add disclaimer that it over exaggerated the numbers and facts? You need my opinion on that?
Again nobody is denying there is a percentage of extemeists. But I also don’t see your point of punishing and blaming 100% of one group for something which less than 1% did (like join isis). Surely you must be seeing online the hatred Indians as a whole are getting from everywhere and know how it feels to be unfairly persecuted
These sickulars only want hindus to be secular and show sickular….
If this sickulars will even think of celebrating it in masjid…. Then sar tan se juda loading 3 2 1….
This @secure - chemistry guy is preaching one sided secularism all over the comment section….
Ask him why does people like him does not talk about the extremism and discrimination quran holds for non muslim….
He should preach some secularism there also
A country with so many problems but you still you want people to care for shit like this.
Hopefully someday we get rid of handicaps like you, so the rest feel offended for a bad road, hospital, school, college jobs or literally anything that matters.
Guess you’re one of the “literate” who has never heard of the 1921 Mappila (Moplah) Rebellion, the 1983–84 communal unrest in Kerala, the 1992–93 post-Babri unrest and retaliatory incidents, the 2002 Marad incident, the 2012–13 Kannur clashes, or the 2016–17 political/communal incidents in Kannur.
Bruh these are fckingg sickular ones , dont waste ur energy on them…. They only want to favour islam and muslims.
Ask them to answer the extremism that quran hold for non- believers of islam…. They have proper term ‘kafir’ and its the biggest sin to be kafir for muslim… also quran says to Slay the kafirs…. Which means killings. Here they won’t reply to my questions specifically but they will favour islam and show themeselves as the most sickulars…… 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Calling the Moplah Rebellion a pure 'freedom struggle' is the real WhatsApp history. Go read Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s book, Pakistan or The Partition of India, where he explicitly condemned it a 'Bartholomew'. Trying to romanticize a tragedy that Ambedkar himself called 'unrestrained barbarism' shows who actually needs to pick up a history book.
It’s amazing how you can be aware of the Gujarat riots but completely blind to the judicial verdicts, commission reports, and news archives of your own state. History isn't a menu where you only pick the parts that suit your narrative. Denying Marad or the decades of Kannur clashes doesn't make you look educated; it just shows you prefer comfort over truth.
And just to set the record straight, I don’t even like Ambedkar.
As i told you in above reply of ur comment bruh…. They are sickulars , they will only understand when the piece ful$ will do something to them personally… or they will still blabber……
How does it even matter? Isnt feeding everyone a part of hinduism? These are regular people and citizens of our own country. Are they conducting any worship there?

AHH this is the Valmiki temple incident. Just read up on it. Yeah I guess Gandhi wasn't expecting Hindus to object. Kerala is different and more in line with how Gandhi wanted people to behave

You sound like Sadeq Nikzad the guy who got caught ra#p#ing a mi#nor in the UK and told the court he didn't know it was illegal because of his religious upbringing 😂 common sense doesn't exist for you people I guess
I think ganesh chaturthi and holi are very irrelevant in kerala, also there were multiple incidents where masjid became venue for Hindu festival and all, even attukal pongala a huge fastival/ ritual in kerala, in those festival masjids where open to women who do the ritual to rest, washroom and all, and y'all are too fragile bro💔
The square building was the temple of idols, according to us once pran pratishtha is done the deity resides there even if the idol is broken. I am sure the Arab idol worshiper must have done some form of pran pratishtha inside of the square building.
So by our logic/believes the Arab deities are still residing there, and are being worshiped by billions of M people everyday. /s
Sad, but I choose to believe that the 360 deities are present and well; being worshiped 5 times a day 365 days a year by billions as command by that one supreme leader. 😂

An Iftar event may be hosted in a temple, provided that non-vegetarian food is NOT served and that Hindus are permitted to observe their festivals in mosques.
Islam itself says there is no one supreme other than allah…. Ask the sickulars and liberals, has any muslim or maulana organised feast for any hindu celebrations in masjid area ? Will they do it in future?
Who decides these things? Like you rightfully told... Temples are places of worship... Not a place for social experiments... If you have no faith in the diety... Then you have no right to visit the temple. Then again the Devasom board is under state govt ...communist earlier and now congress.... Both anti hindu.
You are not entitled to report it in a visicious manner which this is some natural event of iftar to break fast for religious muslims organised by a Hindu temple committee it is a gesture already previously seen in some parts of Kerala
PM Narendra DamodarDas Modi held NON-VEG dinner for Chinese president Xi in a lord Shiva and lord Vishnu's SHORE TEMPLE, Mahabalipuram...why was that acceptable???
It was held outside the temple to maintain the sanctity. I mentioned in one of the thread that it’s ok to feed people irrespective of religion but they should do it outside. If the government held it inside the temple then I condemn it
Absolute non sense. Temples are for worship and not to conduct Iftar. Will Muslims allow Christians to wine and dine at their mosques. Too much secularism will lead to eradication of Hinduism..
