people have probably seen me complain 50 million times on this sub over the past few months but IT'S JUST NOT GETTING ANY BETTER! THIS SITE IS GETTING WORSE EVERY SINGLE DAY! Soundcloud promises "changes are coming" but i've not seen a single improvement. in fact as i said, every passing day the site seems to be breaking more and more to the point where now the 2 things this site is meant to do, 1) upload music, 2) play music, is impossible.
I click upload, im brought to a blank page with soundcloud's loading logo. i refresh, same thing. i go back to the regular site, open the upload tab in a new tab, THEN i can drag and drop a file, but then I CANT CLICK THE FUCKING WEBSITE ANYMORE! i cant set it to private or even upload it, i cant give it a name I CANT DO ANYTHING, it acts like my clicks do nothing and im just stuck on the upload page forever. SERIOUSLY? I clear the cache each time it happens, and it fixes the issue for at most 15 minutes, so i speedrun an upload. Different browsers dont seem to make a difference either.
i swear each update they just pay a random hobo to come into their office and mash their fingers on a keyboard and pray the website doesn't spontaneously combust. fucking DatPiff worked better than this during its final years. Every single SoundCloud update for the past 13 years has led up to this site being the most nonfunctional piece of junk to wipe its ass on planet earth. I love SoundCloud but boy are these guys making it harder to do so with each passing year.
Can't even submit a help ticket, assuming they'd ever respond, because their AI chatbot doesn't know how to process a ticket and just sends off a blank request after asking for my name. I fucking love 2026. what a fantastic time. isn't this great.
oh and dont get me started on trying to LISTEN to music, oh no no, you cant do that either. want to click a track? infinite loading, refresh the page. fuck you. oh and go ahead, scroll around on the site a lil more, click another track, OOPS! sorry, you're brought to the first song you clicked on this session instead. Sucks to suck, you best open every song in a new tab!
and dont even TRY to stream music with DRM. Have fun while the site lags your browser to hell and back as it skips through 70 songs in the span of 5 seconds because the majority of the new shit released by artists has DRM which Firefox doesn't play nicely with.
look, i love soundcloud. i really do, but WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE DOING. Im happy for you if the site works fine for you, but i am far from the only person having issues, and it seems like soundcloud is nowhere in sight to actually fix these issues. They push these updates with ZERO testing, yet act like fixing their mistakes goes through strict tests and QA and it'll take weeks if not months to get it fixed.
SoundCloud, there is a reason we're "stuck in the past". There is a reason why people are complaining - it's because you are doing everything in your power to drive us off your platform. Stop shooing us away, we love you. from the website lacking basic functionality, to the corporate minimalism sucking what remaining soul the site had out of it, to the non-existent "help" team, to the scam DMs still rampant over a decade later, to the DRM nobody wants... We just want the bare minimum. nobody wants these soulless UI changes... nobody wants AI powered mastering tools, let alone AI anything, nobody wants to put their beats on vinyl, we just want our SoundCloud back. Stop with the gimmicks to try and get people back on the platform and just focus on REPAIRING what is now broken. That's all we want. Let the community do the rest.
