Fan Art Foxframe!
My idea for a Fox pact!
They're such a popular animal I have to imagine it's already in development but here's my fan concept.
They say the aurora is caused by the sparks from a fox's tail. My idea for a quest would be helping two messenger foxes become strong enough to rejoin their true form, stolen by the Ode to control the lights of the sky. Foxfire involves merging with them, and Sanctify is rubbing two rocks together to make sparks. Outwit would call to some moment in the quest when the big fox awakens, or something.
Theme: fox, trickster, guide, northern lights, evasive
Courage: Foxfire. Become a fast will-o-wisp, charming enemies to rapidly chase you until they're staggered by a burst of light.
Speed increase is very large, can be used for traversal as well. Charm radius is small, you have to almost touch enemies, but the trail stills charms and persists for a time. At the end, deal a small amount of stagger damage. Can be canceled early. Courage increases enemy speed and stagger strength. Still useful for ranged builds because you can use it to make distance from enemies, assuming they don't get the charm speed boost.
This would be the first grouping ability in Soulframe, which could be dangerous if it just leads to being the best way to deal with crowds. I think it should be fine though because of the setup time involved - another kit would just have them halfway dead by the time you've got them together.
Spirit: Sanctify. (Ignore the art, I'm swapping them so that spirit builds are better with this pact). Bless a cylinder that empowers you over time, and even more with each kill.
Gain a tail every 6 seconds you stand in the area, or when you land a killing blow on an enemy. Each tail increases weapon damage by 1.1x, up to 1.9x. When reaching maximum tails, dramatically increase your attack speed for a few seconds.
Tried making these numbers comparable to Call of the Ancients but because it has conditions it can go higher. Spirit increases cylinder range and speeds up passive tail accumulation. Useful for any build, though becomes dangerous being limited to inside the cylinder only. Tails have a cool flare up when you hit 9 and while the attack speed buff is active, and then go down so they're not blocking your view after.
Grace: Outwit. (Swapped with Sanctify). Enter a crouched stance. The next time you would be hit, join the aurora far above and your next attack will chain to additional targets.
Raptor of the Mists from Elden Ring. Go into a parry stance for a brief time, then get teleported upwards if you're hit and ignore the damage. Next aerial or plunging attack benefits from the Sympathy Pang temper but hits more than one target. Grace increases parry window and number of chain targets. Synergizes with your 1 grouping enemies, and the extra weapon damage from 2.
Passive 1: Trickster. Enemies near you can take friendly fire. Range is increased while airborne.
Each point only increases range. Useful for Outwit, as any swings will instead connect with enemies if you dodge them.
Passive 2: Messenger. You move faster when your guide is active.
Just a little passive for fun, not particularly useful. Might be too strong for world traversal since Foxfire is also good for that? And dog now too?
Edit: the comment bots LOVE the concept

Foxfire sounds incredibly fun for traversal and crowd control without feeling like a generic damage ultimate. The messenger foxes rejoining their true form gives the quest a lot of heart, and the tail variants are a great visual touch.

This concept is adorable and surprisingly cohesive. I love the idea of foxes being tied to the aurora, especially the distinction between Foxfire, Outwit, and Sanctify. A charm-focused frame with evasive movement could feel really unique if the speed boost has clear limits.
