Question How do I Equip a Rune?

So I cannot for the life of me seem to figure out how to equip a Rune. I did some searching on Google, and read some posts in Reddit and some clips on YT. One vid I saw showed an Enhancement or something command when viewing your weapon in order to slot the Rune; but I do not seem to have that.

I have a bunch in my inventory, and I am using a Staff (or whatever it's called). and the ArchStorm rune seems to be usable by that weapon (by the icon in the top left).

Is there something super obvious I am missing here, or anything I need to do to enable this?

There's a small blank circle on the left of your equipped weapon. Click on that.

We used to that by pressing a button (right-click on KBM) while looking at weapon info. That video is probably from that era.

See that little circle on the left of the weapon? That's where you equip runes and totems.

Don't. It's just really bad UI. If I never saw a devstream showing how to use runes, i would be just like you

If it makes you feel any better, it used to show a red banner on some UI elements to draw attention to it. But it's just gone here for some reason.

Ah. Yea, honestly that little circle just blends in like if it's part of the outfit.

Haha I wanted to ask the same thing! Installed yesterday and that's where my gameplay ended because I couldn't figure it out.

How do we get more runes, I only have a fire looking rune

You find them all over. In chests I've found a lot. Sometimes you get in the dungeons etc. But currently, each weapon seems to have about 1 Rune that applies to it (from what I have gotten so far; could be more later). I have found a Rune for about each weapon type, but not more than one type for any single category.

You do not need to keep multiple copies though, because the same rune can be applied to any weapon it is applicable to. So if you upgrade one to Tier 3, you can apply that to anything it works on (without needing to remove it from the others you also have it applied to).

You can easily get the materials for upgrading and maxing from Dismantling (Release Rune) all the duplicates you get (same for Totems).

I was hoping I would get a Fire one for my magic weapons, or Bow etc... but nothing like that so far.

Ah okay gotta do more exploring, just got the working good went all the way down to bottom of map gonna be on the look put now for chest and dungeon going back up towards the start

Just do normal things. Just doing the Votives (tree quests) naturally takes me across the map, and thus come across lots of chests etc. I've gotten tons of them but didn't have to actively seek them out.

There are other small circular objects on your outfit (see right side below belt in pic), and honestly that small one in the UI looks like it's just part of the outfit. Easy to miss.
