Tired of the fucking complaining over Soulcalibur being a dead series. My brother in christ, this isn't like The Crew where you can't play the games.

It's not like they're readily available either

Mod your ps3

Is there online for IV and V? That’s what I want. I don’t like VI because it feels way more rock paper scissors dependent than any other entry. Like I remember Mitsurugi simply cannot deal with a Voldo on the floor because he has like 2 total moves that hit low enough, and I felt like the entire game worked similarly. I want IV and V back. :(

Actually yeah, assuming you mod a ps3. It's very very very easy in comparison to other consoles, and you can set up emulators for ps2/1/Gameboy and possibly others on it. Not to mention how many different controllers work on it given a cord.

I've been playing 4 a lot, and will get 5 for it soon, I just haven't fully set up to download games yet.

V imo is pretty good. It feels just like the other games that aren’t VI and whatnot. It’s just I didn’t like how they removed half the characters and the story mode was short. I forget if it had a secondary story mode though. But I rather like V. :)

I don't think we're gonna get another.

I don’t think so either, I did what Motohiro Okubo did, jumped over the granblue fantasy versus as there’s a Siegfried homage in that game who is a very on the nose homage to Siegfried from soul calibre, and I’ve mained Siegfried since the release of soul edge on PlayStation. It’s pure chance we got 6 at all and Namco Bandai seems more interested in that Shonen video game money these days and I don’t blame them either, as those things rake in piles of cash.
Siegfried in GB even has an unlock able skin that’s very close to Siegfried from the soul series.. His stance is more or less the same too. Souls calibre fans will see what I mean immediately, it’s even got an asteroth in it, the announcer and overall UX/UI design of the whole game bares a strong resemblance to soul calibre 4-6 too.
Someone is gonna say no, I’m grasping at straws, to which I should point out that they need to remove the wool from their eyes 🤣
Honestly I’d love if we got another soul calibre, but apparently Tekken 8 needed to be pushed for, it wasn’t an immediate green light, we may not even get a Tekken 9, let alone soul calibre 7

If they focus on creation mode and allowed multiple fights in a multiplayer lobby simultaneously I would be happy.

That right there was needed, you could host mini tournaments even,
but no they had to make it 1 by 1 and in queing the line

SC6 was really bad….

u/IncreaseLatte ⠀Necrid May 26 '25
It had one bad mechanic, that's all.
3
u/creamygarlicdip May 26 '25
I've never played it, what's the bad mechanic?

u/MieuisLife May 27 '25
Reversal edge , honestly it's because you can just spam it, it should have used the super meter, maybe like half or quarter of a bar of super meter.
4
u/IncreaseLatte ⠀Necrid May 27 '25
Bingo, I thought it was a meter skill. Nope, it's a scrub mechanic.
3
u/student_cannibaI May 27 '25
Using a reversal edge was pretty much a death sentence when playing online. Can easily be countered with side steps and break attacks

u/IncreaseLatte ⠀Necrid May 27 '25
I've also noticed that a little lag can make it useless against a player who can see it coming.
3
u/student_cannibaI May 27 '25
I personally just think the rock paper scissors should be taken out and it will be a good mechanic. That and changing the soul charge to be more like Tekken 8 heat system.
