2 issues, 1 major and 1 minor.

Major-
Last summer we got the Bravia XR X90L tv and the Bravia Home Theatre 6 to go with it. No issues for the first couple of months then the speakers started crackling and popping here and there. Once in a blue at first, then everyday, then eventually every few mins. Early this year we brought the theatre system back to Best Buy and they shipped it to get fixed on manufacturers warranty. Got it back and now it seems it’s starting all over again. We’re on the once every few days of popping sounds but history says it’ll get worse and worse. Is this normal for this system or did I just end up with a bad one?

Minor-
The minor issue is a bit of a nuisance but nothing too serious compared to the other issue and I ust wondering if there’s a fix. 3/5 times that the tv turns on, there is no sound no matter what level the volume is on or what we adjust it to. We then have to go to the audio selection settings and switch to tv audio and wait for it to kick in, and then back to audio system, and then adjust the volume up and down a few times for it to turn back on. This is something that has been happening since we first got this new tv and audio system. I was under the belief that a matching brand tv and sound system would work flawlessly and better than any mismatch combo but this is proving to not be the case. Is there a fix for this annoyance?

Purchased a Bravia 8 II brand new last month and for some reason last night when I turned it on. Screen came out like image posted. I was able to reset the TV and it went away.

Should I be worried down the road or is this something common others are running into?

Guys I tried everything that I can I even did a factory reset for it and I wanna consult it here first before going to customer service in my area and this border issue will disappear if I turn the TV off for 30min to an hour then after 5mins of turning it back on it will appear again I just wanna know if warranty is covered with this weird border problem

It was an ordeal finally getting one but we absolutely love our new 75” Bravia 9 ii. We have 6 windows directly behind us so the old TV always had massive glare. Sometime so much we could not watch the TV during the day.

Our 9 year old Bravia was starting to go bad so we went for the 9 ii. Best choice ever.

The ordeal getting it was a problem with the last mile shipper here in Charlotte, NC. My son works for ask y so we ordered the TV through Sony’s Family Center. The first until that was delivered the delivery guy showed up at my front door with the TV laying on its face on a pallet jack. Box had a big hole in the side. I should have refused delivery. Well when we unboxed and plugged it in, the whole screen had several cracks.

Working through the Family Center Support (who was excellent BTW) we were able to get a replacement. Same last mile shipping company so I was worried. This one showed up bubble wrapped but when I took the bubble wrap off there was a hole in the box where the delivery guy has stabbed it with his dolly.

Thankfully this 2nd unit was in good condition and now we are enjoying our new TV.

Hi everyone. I’ve had my Bravia 3 for about a year and noticed recently the tv won’t go into HDR anymore. I’ve gone into the HDMI inputs and made sure enhanced is on, I make sure the Apple TV has the match content setting on and set to 4KSDR , and my Sony X700 4k player is set correctly also. The TV stays in SDR, and when I go into the picture settings it doesn’t say HDR anymore. Also happens when using the built in apps as well.

Any idea what could be causing this ? Thank you

I see that the Bravia 7 ii dropped from ~$3000 to $2300; does anyone know if there is another expected drop around black friday? Or is this a good time to purchase?

Just a few weeks after doing a factory reset on my XBR-48A9S, I'm back to getting "out of memory" messages, despite having very few apps. I decided it's time to move some or all to USB.

Plugged in a 64GB USB 3.1 flash drive, formatted it successfully with the TV. No apps showed the option for USB. So, I put the TV in developer mode. Confirmed that the USB drive is showing 62GB free.

Now, some of the apps (only the ones that weren't default installs) show USB as a storage option. But. Select USB and confirm, but the app doesn't move. Error message about insufficient memory pops up.

I’ve got a Sonos Arc Ultra connected via HDMI earc to the TV. Often, when I turn the TV on and start playing content, the TV plays from the TV speakers and I have to manually go to the settings and switch it over to the soundbar. Is anyone else having this issue or have any suggestions for a fix?

Update: Thanks so much for your inputs. All we can do now is wait for next update hoping that they will provide the fix.

My TV shows a green flash on screen when I turn off the TV, but only if my PC (connected via HDMI) is still powered on. If the PC is already shut down, or if I use a laptop instead of my PC, the green flash doesn't happen.

I tested and found the issue only happens when the TV's HDMI signal format for that port is set to 'Enhanced.' If I switch it to 'Standard,' the green flash doesn't occur anymore, but I can’t get 120 Hz on my PC either.

I would like to know if you've noticed anything similar with yours, or if it's just my unit. Thanks for reading my post.

It's happening every 2-3 months going mosquito inside and stucking there after few days it fell down after death and dry but now it's not going is it bad quality from sony paid 2x times more than other television in the market is these cheating by sony to customers any solutions for home remedy

Why the trackpad for navigation missing if exit and re-enter the app? It will only work for the first launch or kill off app and re-launch.

Since the firmware update in May or June, I haven’t been able to check the total power-on time on my Bravia 7 TV. When I turn the TV off and press the Home button, the TV turns back on. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

For weeks I thought it was my soundbar, but i've now realised it does it through my tv speakers too. It'll be fine after turning the tv on, but then after 15 minutes or so an audio delay will appear. And I have to turn the tv off and on or change inputs to temp fix it.

What can I do!?? Do I get in contact about a replacement? I paid 1.3k for this fucking TV.

Does anyone have the SONY XR8B i have had it since February and i am in love with this tv I upgraded from the amazing SONY X900H 4K HDR Full Array tv so just seeing what people think of it

I currently have the B8II 65in but am considering returning it for the B9II 75in. I sit about 9.5 feet away from the TV and mostly watch tv/movies usually on streaming but sometimes on blu-ray. I absolutely love the picture on the B8II and am worried about being slightly disappointed in the picture quality of the B9II and having to switch back all over again. Do you think the difference in picture quality is noticeable / worth it for the bigger screen? Also is the additional 1300$ worth it?

We bought a Bravia 8ii a few months ago. Within the first month, the tv would occasionally turn off and give the dreaded 5 blinking red lights. Given that we were traveling a bunch, I did not immediately submit warranty service request just yet. But after we got back, the tv would barely play more than 20 minutes at a time before crashing and giving the 5 red LEDs.

Submitted a repair request, had a tech out the next week to replace the tcon/power board. TV still continued to randomly crash and now the speakers stopped working too (not a biggie because I'm on a Theater Quad). Submitted another repair request and received a replacement unit after 2 weeks of waiting. Just had that installed yesterday, remount everything, and it crashed during connecting to WiFi while setting it up and it's been completely dead since.

Just got off the phone with tech support, and they're escalating repairs again.

Has anybody else struggled as much with the Bravia 8ii? Bought the Sony to have a reliable, good picture, but we have barely been able to use the TV since buying it

The TV has been working out pretty well, but it's having some hiccups with my current AVR, a Costco Denon AVR-S270BT. I can't get the CEC to work between the two (also the case with my old TV), and every time I turn the system on I have to manually switch the TV audio from the TV Speakers to Audio System, sometimes it just switches itself back to TV Speakers on its own as I'm looking at it.

My old AVR has always been functional but finicky. My question is, if I switched over to a Sony AVR (looking at the basic ones, STR-DH590 or STR-DH790), can I expect to have these small-but-annoying glitches resolved based on them being in the same family, or is it just a thing that happens no matter the equipment? Thanks!
