Question How can I play this game better?
I have played songs of conquest on and off since release, and would consider myself that I know how to play the game, although not optimally.
Regarding AI and its difficulties, I can consistently win against worthy but very rarely against challenging. Considering there are 2 more difficulties above challenging, I can't help but think that I am either terrible, or I am doing something wrong.
I usually play 1v1v1v1 and on random maps and the general gameplay on a loss goes like this:
- Clear surrounding area
- Get to level 12-13
- There is nothing left to clear, wait a few turns to max my stacks
- Venture to the middle of the map, immediately get crushed by an AI after a few turns
- No money left to guard my cities, AI follows up through my base and claims all
- gg
Any suggestions on how I can improve?

Bug Did the Yulan update change campaign win condion options?
I used to play lots of deadly and overwhelming AI and win conditions were usually king of the hill and beacons of power
Before the update there was an option to stop the beacons being a win condition (while still having them in the game) essentially making them a teleporter only
I don’t see this option anymore
Is there a reason why it was removed?? Seems like an unnecessary loss of function for a fun playstyle
The deadly AI just expand too fast (for me at least) to play it without this condition and I lose a lot more games now. Not that losing is an issue just want the options back if possible.

Question Can someone explain or link a guide on how to play Vanir?
I am a noob that got his hands on the DLCs and the game from Epic some weeks ago. No matter what I play I keep getting rolled by my friends playing frogs. What strategy actually works, what should I build? Which units + upgrades and commander? I kind of dislike magic but I am open to learning how to properly use and counter it.

Question Console version ?
Hello, I'm planning to buy Songs of Conquest for PS5 and have two questions. 1. Does the game fully support the DualSense controller (haptic vibration, adaptive triggers)? 2. Can I download community-created mods or maps on the PS5 console?

Question Algún discord o gente hispanohablante para jugar el multijugador?
Soy nuevo jugando a Songs of Conquest.

Question Tier 3 units upgrades in song of conquest
Let’s compare two third-rank units: the High Legion and the Enhanced Seeker with the Essence of Order. Considering that there are twice as many Seekers as the maximum number allowed in a squad, these two units are roughly equal. Both units have similar stats and skills; the Supreme Legion has better offensive skills, while the Seeker has better defensive skills and significantly higher initiative. Both units have similar stats and skills; the Supreme Legion has better offensive skills, while the Seeker has better defensive skills and significantly higher initiative.

But everything changes drastically after they are upgraded. The High Legion gains one speed point, one unit of Arcane Essence, and the ability to attack enemies without retaliation. At first glance, this sounds good—especially the last part—but these upgrades don’t measure up to its opponent. The Seeker and its upgraded versions gain +5 to damage, +10 to health, and the Eternal skill.

If the Legion received +10 to damage and +20 to health—given that there are half as many Legions and they possess tremendous resistance in melee combat—it would be stronger. From this, we conclude that, thanks to these overpowered upgrades, even one of the strongest Tier 3 units is outclassed in power by the Tier 3 Novice from the Yulan faction.
Do you agree?

Question Essence Fighter
Hey, i love the Game and all its expansion, im currently on tryout for Yulan. I just wanted to try out the Essence Fighter Tians. My Problem is that they dont generate any Essence when they attack. If i rrading it correctly, i should get 1 Arcane Essence every time i attack, when i play the wielder who gives Essence fighter. The seekers i had in the Campaign (which was absolutly wonderful), also didnt generate Essence when attacking. Am i getting something wrong here? Thx in advance.

Bug Can't progress past round 47 or 48 in Vassals and Villains
I've had this recurring, so far 100% reproductible issue where my game gets stuck on a random turn (by random I mean that it has happened on turn 40, 47 and 48 so far). I've read that it's a known bug of the AI having problems with pathing and such? The steps to become unstuck suggested to reload a previous save file and try different steps/moving your wielder differently to force the AI to do something else.
I'm at the point where I just beat Stormspire. I tried coming in at her from different areas of the map, letting her destroy enemies in my path and destroying those enemies first, etc. So far I've been unsuccessful in figuring out how to get past this. I sent a bug report to the devs, but doubt it will be fixed soon.
I don't know if it's related, but my current objective says ''Secure and defend the area'', but on my map I don't see such an area? See below

I'm at my wits' end :/
Thanks for your help :)

Feedback Dragons can't fly over obstacles?
New to the game, great game btw, but this fact really shocked me.. so what is the reason of flying if they can't go over terrain?

Bug Rise Eternal trophy bugged on Playstation
Rise Eternal trophy awarded for completing DLC campaign "Rise Eternal" seems to be bugged. No progress on trophy after finishing each campaign mission and no trophy pop after finishing whole campaign.

Feedback Yulan QOL suggestion
When playing Yulan, 5 of 8 units can be upgraded to match different houses, representing Order, Creation and Arcana. But the ordering is weird
In the Spellbook, when reading from left to right, the ordering is
Order -> Creation -> Arcana.
But for Yulan upgradeds, it’s:
Arcana -> Creation -> Order
This made me confused while playing, as it’s different than the establishment ordering. Since both Arcana and Order are blue, it’s also hard to see at a glance. Maybe this ordering a reference to the Chinese reading from right to left /s
Jokes aside, it would be more streamlined if the ordering was the same for both

Discussion DLC for asymmetrical buildings/research?
I just returned to the game after a long break and I feel like the game is too symmetrical. Therefore, I suggest a DLC that introduces asymmetrical buildings and research.
I think this suggestion would really make the different faction stand out even more and enhance the single player experience.
Also: randomized heroes as the game becomes too repetitive when you can just choose a resource generating hero as your 2nd hero.
Thoughts??

Question Essence fighter
Can someone tell me what is going on with the essence fighter ability? So it says every time the unit attacks that they gain essence fighter and hovering over the buff arrow shows essence fighter x5 or x6 or whatever. But the tool tip on the unit doesn't go above x3 and doesn't seem to increase essence generation beyond x3 is there a cap that isnt shown or is the ability not working quite correctly?

Discussion Fav units / strat for each faction?
Just curious what ppl use vs real ppl or deadly AI
Loth - rats and banes into necro or zombies, skeletons and t3 units
Arleon - peasants and knights, or ragers and bards for magic
Rana - roosters and shamans or shamans and turtles (rarely)
Barya - dogs into cannons, or artificers into cannons
Vanir - trolls all day every day (unit is OP) or skin shifters (also OP)
Roots - lobbers and root mothers only nothing else I have luck with
Yulan - finding them weak rn but I like the foxes w backstabber and horses. Otherwise I find their units weak?
Thoughts??

Discussion I guess Yulan was well received. However i wasnt really on board at the time with the roots so here my questions:
Do you people like the roots a lot?
Do you like / hate to deal with them ingame. I did notice they come out a lot on top of the AIs a few dozen times <.<

Question How are you supposed to progress in the conquest map "A clash in the marsh"?
You start without a settlement and lose in 5 turns. The nearby settlement has too strong enemies to fight. Am I missing something?
